Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces:—
STAFF.
Captain J. R. Page, Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Adjutant, 3rd Artillery Brigade Group and 23rd Heavy Battery, N.Z.A., and O.C., Field Cadre, R.N.Z.A., Christchurch, on appointment to the Special Force. Dated 20th September, 1939.
Lieutenant R. B. Symon, Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Adjutant, 3rd Artillery Brigade Group, and is appointed Adjutant, 23rd Heavy Battery, N.Z.A., Christchurch. Dated 21st September, 1939.
Lieutenant and Quartermaster C. T. R. McLean, M.B.E., Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, is appointed Adjutant, 3rd Artillery Brigade Group, Christchurch. Dated 21st September, 1939.
REGIMENT OF ROYAL NEW ZEALAND ARTILLERY.
W.O. I (Regimental Sergeant-Major) H. C. F. Petersen to be Lieutenant and Quartermaster and is appointed Station Adjutant, Fort Dorset. Dated 25th September, 1939.
THE CANTERBURY YEOMANRY CAVALRY.
Captain E. W. D. Unwin, The Canterbury Regiment, is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, Regulations for the N.Z. Military Forces, 1927. Dated 28th September, 1939.
THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant A. V. Neal to be Captain. Dated 1st June, 1939.
REGIMENT OF NEW ZEALAND ARTILLERY.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 15th Heavy Battery, to be Lieutenants:—
J. R. Marshall. Dated 27th August, 1939.
G. F. J. Bayley. Dated 28th August, 1939.
2nd Lieutenant G. E. Cook, 8th Field Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 10. Dated 28th September, 1939.
John Douglas Gerard to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 15th Heavy Battery. Dated 9th September, 1939.
NEW ZEALAND CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Charles Geoffrey Pryor, B.Sc., Grad., I.E.E., to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the Northern District Signal Company. Dated 19th September, 1939.
THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.
Lieutenant N. E. W. Barclay, 1st Cadet Battalion, relinquishes his commission on appointment to the N.Z. Chaplains Department. Dated 25th September, 1939.
THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
The undermentioned Captains, 1st Battalion, to be Majors:—

Beresford Russell Dill to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 25th August, 1939.

Captain E. W. D. Unwin, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 27th August, 1937, and is attached to the Canterbury Yeomanry Cavalry. Dated 28th September, 1939.

Lieutenant P. R. Willberg, from the Reserve of Officers, The Canterbury Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 27th October, 1936, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 26th September, 1939.
NEW ZEALAND MEDICAL CORPS.
Captain J. C. McKenzie, M.B., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, with seniority from 6th May, 1937, and is posted to Southern Military District (unattached). Dated 18th July, 1939.
Lieutenant L. S. Rogers, M.B., Ch.B., F.R.C.S., F.R.A.C.S., attached to the 20th Light Battery, N.Z.A., to be Captain. Dated 14th July, 1938.
Trevlyn Ernest Miller, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the 1st Battalion, The Hauraki Regiment. Dated 1st June, 1939.
John Wynyard Bartrum, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, Northern Military District (unattached). Dated 15th June, 1939.
William Roguvald Fea, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant Northern Military District (unattached). Dated 16th June, 1939.
Robert Buchanan Beattie, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, Northern Military District (unattached). Dated 24th June, 1939.
Frederick Gault Barrowclough, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the Auckland (East Coast) Mounted Rifles. Dated 27th July, 1939.
Owen Stanmore Hetherington, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant, Northern Military District (unattached). Dated 23rd August, 1939.
Albert Abraham Lovell, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., to be Lieutenant, Central Military District (unattached). Dated 19th September, 1939.
