SCHEDULE.
NGAWAIARUA SCENIC RESERVE.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement 8 acres 3 roods 10 perches, more or less, being parts of Kai Iwi 6n 2r 2 Block, situated in Block XI, Nukumaru Survey District, comprising, first, an area of 5 acres 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, bounded, commencing at the junction of the south-western boundary of the said block with the Great North-western Road; on the south-west by Ngawaiarua Native Reserve, distance 388·8 links; thence generally on the north and east by other part of the said Kai Iwi 6n 2r 2 Block by lines bearing 92° 41′, distance 335·2 links; bearing 73° 55′, distance 263·5 links; bearing 43° 30′, distance 175·8 links; bearing 139° 26′ 30″, distance 516·9 links; bearing 58° 52′, distance 244·5 links; bearing 91° 06′, distance 365·3 links; bearing 86° 03′ 30″, distance 50·4 links; bearing 188° 59′, distance 131 links; bearing 238° 43′, distance 150·9 links; bearing 234° 07′, distance 336·8 links; thence on the south by the Great North-western Road to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Secondly, an area of 3 acres 0 roods 16 perches, more or less, commencing at the junction of the south-east boundary of the said block with the Great North-western Road; on the south-east by (the Kai Iwi 6n 2r 3 Block, distance 334·2 links; thence generally on the north and west by other part of the said Kai Iwi 6n 2r 2 Block, bearing 316° 26′, distance 271·1 links; bearing 252° 10′, distance 230·3 links; bearing 266° 93′ 30″, distance 322 links; bearing 183° 59′, distance 292·5 links; bearing 208° 45′ 30″, distance 184·8 links; thence on the south by the Great North-western Road to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Lands permanently reserved.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of each temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas by the seventy-first section of the Land for Settlements Act, 1935, it is further provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, as he thinks fit, set aside reserves for any specified public purpose out of lands acquired under the last-mentioned Act, provided that no land so acquired shall be set aside for endowments:
And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the Warrant, the date of which is specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notification of which was published in the Gazette specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Acts for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
