Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Oamaru.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 28th September, 1939.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the County of Waitaki and included in the Borough of Oamaru.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF WAITAKI AND INCLUDED IN THE BOROUGH OF OAMARU.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 27.75 poles, more or less, being Sections 1 to 26, Township of Casanova Extension No. 3, Sections 5 and 6, Township of Casanova Extension No. 2, part Allotment 2 and part of right of way, deeds plan No. 75, and part of Dart and Leith Streets, bounded towards the north-east by Allotments 1 and 4, said plan 75, 1869-5 links, towards the south-east by a Railway Reserve, 525.28 links, towards the south-west by Warwick Settlement, the crossing of Leith Street, Allotments 53 and 44, deposit plan 3347, the crossing of Dart Street, Allotment 43, said plan 3347, and part of Section 9, Block I, Oamaru Survey District, 1887.25 links; and towards the north-west by the North Road, 525 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly shown on plan No. 17078, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Department of Lands and Survey, at Dunedin.

Declaring an approved Patriotic Purpose under the Patriotic Purposes Emergency Regulations 1939.

Office of the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 4th October, 1939.

PURSUANT to regulation 28 of the Patriotic Purposes Emergency Regulations 1939, I, William Edward Parry, Minister of Internal Affairs, do hereby declare as follows:

(1) The following shall be an approved patriotic purpose under the said regulations, namely:
The supply during the war as defined by the said regulations of comforts, conveniences, and special equipment to members of His Majesty's New Zealand Naval, Military, and Air Forces, and to New Zealand members of any other of His Majesty’s Forces.

(2) This declaration shall apply to the National Patriotic Fund and to all Provincial Patriotic Funds established by the said regulations.

Declaring a certain Service for Carriage of Goods by Motor-vehicle to constitute a Goods-service.

PURSUANT to clause 21 of the Applied Provisions of the Transport (Goods) Order, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that any service carried on by means of a motor-vehicle owned by or hired from or operated by or for George Arthur Mangos, of Inangahua Junction, Carrier, and carried on for the carriage of goods (whether for hire or reward or not) shall be deemed for the purposes of the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, and the Applied Provisions of the Transport (Goods) Order, 1936, to be a goods-service within the meaning of the said Act and the said provisions, notwithstanding that such service has heretofore been carried on under the authority and in terms of a goods-service license.
