NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“ (1) That, for the purpose of providing the interest, instalments of principal, and other charges on a loan of £6,000 known as Works Loan, 1938, authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the following works: Napier South Storm-water Drainage; extension of Kennedy Road; contribution towards cost of Tutaekuri River Diversion under the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Act, 1919, and its amendments; construction of and improvement to Marine Parade Amusement Area; acquiring, filling in, and improving South Pond Recreation Area; Breakwater Road Realignment; Breakwater Road Watermain; and the said the Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth (1/10d.) of a penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

“ (2) That the said special rate of one-tenth (1/10d.) of a penny in the pound (£) includes the special rate of eight one-hundredths (8/100d.) of a penny in the pound (£), made and levied in respect of the said loan by special resolution of the Council passed on the 28th day of November, 1938.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Napier Borough Council held in the Borough Council Chambers, Tennyson Street, Napier, on the 19th day of December, 1938, and as appearing in the minutes of such meeting.
