deposit of £502, the balance may be secured by first mortgage
to the N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Association, Ltd., for a term of
five years with principal to be reduced by £100 yearly.
Interest at the rate of 4½ per cent.
The above run is situated about forty-two miles from
Methven off the Rakaia Gorge Road. Access is by reasonably
good back country road, with the exception of the last few
miles which is by track. The greater part of the run is
mountainous and broken by deep gorges; the lower slopes
are well grassed, offering good pastoral country. Approxi-
mately 400 acres is good quality arable land. Altitude from
2,000 ft. to 6,500 ft. The homestead block of approximately
1,000 acres is subdivided into sixteen paddocks. Summer
country is in one block; winter country in three blocks.
Abstract of Conditions.
- Purchaser shall be over twenty-one years of age.
- Term of license: Twenty-one years from 1st March,
1939, with contingent right of renewal over the whole run, or
if it is subdivided over one subdivision. - No person may hold more than one run, except with the
approval of the Minister of Lands given on the recommenda-
tion of the Land Board. If a husband holds a run, his wife
is deemed to be a runholder and vice versa. - One half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, license fee
(£1 1s.) deposit for improvements, and statutory declara-
tion shall be deposited by the purchaser on the fall of the
hammer. Rent commences from date of license; broken-
period rent will be payable from date of sale to 1st March, - Rent is payable half-yearly in advance on 1st March
and 1st September in each year. If not paid within thirty
days of due date a penalty of 10 per cent. is added. - Licensee shall prevent the destruction or burning of
timber and the growth and spread of gorse, broom, sweet-
briar, or other noxious weeds or plants, and shall keep down
rabbits. - No tussock or snow-grass shall be burned save with the
prior consent in writing of the Board, which may be given
subject to such conditions, restrictions, and directions as the
Board thinks fit. - Licensee shall have no right to any minerals; where
any mineral is discovered the Governor-General may cancel
the license over such land as is required for the proper working
of the mine or for access thereto. - Licensee shall have no right to the timber or flax on
the land comprised in the license, and full rights of ingress,
egress, and regress are reserved to the Crown for the purpose
of cutting and removing such timber and flax. - With the permission of the Land Board the licensee
may—
(a) Cultivate a portion of the run and grow winter feed
thereon:
(b) Plough and sow in grass any area not exceeding 3,000
acres:
(c) Clear of bush or scrub any portion of the run and sow
same in grass:
(d) Surface-sow in grass any portion of the run. - Roads may be taken without payment of compensation.
- License is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.
Plans showing the boundaries, location, &c., of the run
may be seen at the offices of the Commissioners of Crown
Lands at Christchurch and Dunedin and at the Lands Office,
Timaru. Any further information required concerning the
run and the terms of sale may be obtained from the under-
signed.

less, being Sections 9, 11, and 13, Block V, Town of Ranfurly,
and being all the land comprised and described in certificate
of title, Vol. 276, folio 1, and the balance of the land comprised
and described in certificate of title, Vol. 175, folio 47, Otago
Registry, and evidence having been lodged of the loss of the
said certificate of title, I hereby give notice that it is my
intention to issue such new certificate of title at the expira-
tion of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing
this notice.
