Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District known as Diamond Harbour, being Rural Sections Nos. 22982, 246, 498, and 1333, and part of Rural Section No. 2404, bounded towards the north and east generally by the road running along the shore of Lyttelton Harbour from the northernmost corner of Rural Section No. 243E to the northernmost corner of Rural Section No. 24110; thence towards the south generally by the said Section No. 24110 and Charteris Bay Road to the south-western side of the right-of-way which intersects Rural Section No. 2404; thence towards the south-west by the south-western side of that right-of-way to Rural Section No. 243E near its easternmost corner; and thence by the said Section No. 243E to its northernmost corner, the place of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Borough of Motueka.

Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington, 20th December, 1938.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Borough of Motueka and included in the County of Waimea. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF MOTUEKA AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF WAIMEA.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, comprising lands registered in the District of Motueka Original, and being portion of the Borough of Motueka and bounded as follows: Commencing on the high-water mark of Tasman Bay at the south-eastern corner of Section 136, N.R., thence by the southern boundary of the said Section 136 N.R. to Thorp Street; thence by a right line across the said street to the south-eastern corner of Lot 8 of Section 157 N.R.; thence by the southern boundaries of the said Lot 8 and Lots 6, 5, 2, and 1 of the said Section 157 N.R. to High Street North; thence by a right line across the said street to the northern corner of Lot 6 of Section 159 (f); thence in a northerly direction by the western boundaries of part Section 156 and part Section 157 N.R. to the south-eastern corner of Section 158; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section 158 to the eastern boundary of Section 186 (f); thence by the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section 186 (f) to the overflow channel of the Motueka River; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section 186 (f) produced to the western bank of the said overflow channel, being a point on the boundary of area excluded from the Borough of Motueka, as described in New Zealand Gazette 1936, page 497; thence in a north-easterly direction by that boundary to the Motueka Borough boundary as described in New Zealand Gazette 1901, page 231; thence by the said borough boundary to the point of commencement.

Specifying Boundaries of Provincial Districts for Purposes of New Zealand Centennial Act, 1938.

IN pursuance of section 11 of the New Zealand Centennial Act, 1938, I hereby specify that the boundaries of the Provincial Districts established by that section shall be those set out in the Schedule hereto under the names of the respective Provincial Districts.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the west, north, east, and north-east generally by the sea from the mouth of the Awakino River to the westernmost corner of Matakaoa County; thence towards the east and south-east generally by the counties of Matakaoa, Waiapu, Waikohu, and Wairoa to the

39° parallel of latitude ; thence towards the south by the 39° parallel of latitude to Ohura River; thence by the Ohura River to the southern boundary of Ohura County; thence by the southern and western boundaries of Ohura County to the Mokau River; thence by the Mokau River to the Ngatarawa Road; thence by that road to the Awakino River and by the Awakino River to the sea, the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

EAST COAST PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the north and east by the sea from the westernmost corner of Matakaoa County to Paritu; thence towards the south-west by Wairoa County and Whakatane County and towards the north-west by Opotiki County to the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

HAWKE'S BAY PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the east generally by the sea from the southernmost corner of the East Coast Provincial District, hereinbefore described, at Paritu to the mouth of the Waimata Stream; thence westerly along the boundary of the Wellington Land District to the middle of the Manawatu Gorge; thence by a right line to Whariti Trig. Station; thence by the summit of the Ruahine Range to Trig. Station Otupae; thence by a right line to the intersection of the 39° parallel of south latitude by longitude 176° 30' east; thence by the southern boundaries of the Auckland and East Coast Provincial Districts, herein before described, to the sea at Paritu, the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

TARANAKI PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the south-west and north-west generally by the sea from the mouth of the Patea River to the mouth of the Awakino River; thence towards the north generally by the Auckland Provincial District, hereinbefore described, to the Wanganui River; thence by the Wanganui River to Pipiriki; thence south-westerly along the boundary between the Wellington and Taranaki Land Districts to the mouth of the Patea River, the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

WELLINGTON PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded towards the north-west, north, east, and north-east by the Taranaki, Auckland, and Hawke's Bay Provincial Districts, hereinbefore described, from the mouth of the Patea River to the mouth of the Waimata Stream; thence southerly, westerly, and northerly generally by the sea to the mouth of the Patea River, the place of commencement, and including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

MARLBOROUGH PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded on the north-west by the Nelson Provincial District, hereinafter described, from the northern-most point of Amuri County to the southern shore of Elaine Bay; thence by Pelorus Sound; thence on the north-east and south-east by the sea to the mouth of the Conway River; thence on the south-west by Cheviot County to Palmer Saddle; thence by a right line to the confluence of the Acheron and Clarence Rivers; thence by Amuri County to the point of commencement, including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

NELSON PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded on the north-west, north-east, and south-east by the sea from the mouth of the Pororari River to Elaine Bay; thence along the southern shore of Elaine Bay to the south-eastern boundary of the Nelson Land District; thence by that boundary to the northernmost corner of Amuri County; thence bounded on the south-east by Amuri County and on the south-west by Inangahua and Grey Counties to the sea at the mouth of the Pororari River, the place of commencement, including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.

WESTLAND PROVINCIAL DISTRICT.

All that area bounded on the north generally by the Nelson Provincial District, hereinbefore described, from the mouth of the Pororari River to the summit of the Spenser Mountains; thence by the summit of the Spenser Mountains and the Southern Alps to Mt. Aspiring; thence along a right line to the northern shore of Big Bay; thence along the northern shore of Big Bay and north-easterly generally along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Pororari River, the place of commencement, including all boroughs and town districts situated therein, and all adjacent islands.
