Charles Lloyd Sommerville to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority next below 2nd Lieutenant P. S. Crisp, and is seconded to “B” Squadron, 4th Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment (Motorized). Dated 1st September, 1938.

THE NORTH AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant K. M. Hayward resigns his commission. Dated 26th November, 1938.

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain J. S. Coles ceases to be posted to the 8th Field Battery and is posted to the 6th Field Battery. Dated 24th November, 1938.

Captain H. M. Lewis ceases to be posted to the 1st Field Battery and is posted to the 21st Field Battery. Dated 26th November, 1938.

Captain C. B. Menzies, 4th Field Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 1. Dated 1st December, 1938.

The undermentioned Lieutenants to be Captains:—

H. M. Evans, 3rd Field Battery. Dated 20th September, 1938.
A Munro, 14th Medium Battery. Dated 1st November, 1938.

Lieutenant B. D. FitzGerald ceases to be posted to the 19th Medium Battery and is posted to Headquarters, 2nd Artillery Brigade Group. Dated 16th November, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant K. Frechtling, 22nd Anti-Aircraft Battery, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st November, 1938.

Ezra Badger (late Lieutenant, Royal Engineers (T)) to be Lieutenant (on probation for twelve months) and is posted to the 13th Heavy Battery. Dated 1st December, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant B. L. Burns ceases to be posted to the 12th Field Battery and is posted to the 5th Field Battery. Dated 24th November, 1938.

Henry Terence Wickham Nolan to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 18th Anti-Aircraft Battery. Dated 27th August, 1938.

N.Z. CORPS OF SIGNALS.

Lieutenant E. L. J. Marshall, Central Depot, to be Captain. Dated 27th August, 1938.

THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).

James George Stanley Bracewell to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 18th November, 1938.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT (CITY OF WELLINGTON’S OWN).

Lieutenant J. R. Griffin, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 26th August, 1938.

Lieutenant R. E. Broberg, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant, with seniority from 6th September, 1934, is posted to the 1st Battalion and attached to the N.Z. Army Service Corps. Dated 8th November, 1938.

THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant J. K. Brown, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st September, 1938.

2nd Lieutenant C. M. Sealy, 1st Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st October, 1938.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Hon. Captain (Bandmaster) F. W. G. McLeod, Regimental Depot, is posted to the Retired List with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 24th November, 1938.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Eric John Hay to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 1st Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st December, 1938.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

Captain P. W. G. Spiers, M.B.E., M.C., V.D., Regimental Depot, to be Major. Dated 26th August, 1938.

The undermentioned to be 2nd Lieutenants, supernumerary to establishment, and are seconded to the Otago University Medical Company, N.Z.M.C. Dated 9th November, 1938:—

Lieutenant R. E. Broberg, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own), is attached under the provisions of paragraph 141, General Regulations, 1927, and is posted to the 2nd Composite Company. Dated 8th November, 1938.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Major J. S. Hudson, M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., 1st Field Ambulance, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Northern Military District. Dated 20th September, 1938.

Major J. L. R. Plimmer, M.B., F.R.C.S. Edin., ceases to be attached to the 1st Battalion, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own). Dated 23rd November, 1938.

Captain W. G. C. Paterson, M.B., ceases to be attached to the 15th Heavy Battery, N.Z.A., and is seconded for duty with the Royal N.Z. Air Force (Territorial). Dated 23rd November, 1938.

Captain A. L. Young, M.B., F.R.C.S. Edin., ceases to be attached to the 5th Field Battery, N.Z.A., and is attached to the 1st Battalion, The Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington’s Own). Dated 23rd November, 1938.

The seniority of Lieutenant G. B. Palmer, M.R.C.S. Eng., L.R.C.P. Lond., 1st Field Ambulance, is antedated to 1st July, 1937.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend W. W. Averill, Chaplain, 4th Class (Church of England), resigns his commission. Dated 28th November, 1938.

H. J. Parkinson, Chaplain, 4th Class (Salvation Army), is transferred from Area 10 to Area 12. Dated 24th November, 1938.

The Reverend Archibald Macfarlane Elliffe to be Chaplain, 4th Class (Presbyterian), Area 1. Dated 29th November, 1938.

Wilfred MacDonald Ford, B.D.S. (N.Z.), to be Lieutenant and is attached to the 1st Field Ambulance. Dated 19th November, 1938.
