A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the road in Mawheraiti Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 3 roods 7 perches.
Adjoining part Section 8, Block III, Mawheraiti Survey District. (S.O. plan 9049.)
In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/3630/68A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, under No. 2828, and thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of December, 1938.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of December, 1938.

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Auckland City Council on the sixteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, viz.:
“That the Auckland City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Auckland, by resolution declares that section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of street known as Madeira Place adjoining part Allotment 7, Section 3, Suburbs of Auckland ”;
the portion of street affected by such resolution being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and being coloured red on the plan mentioned therein.
SCHEDULE.
THE western side of all that portion of street, situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, known as Madeira Place, fronting part Allotment 7 of Section 3, Suburbs of Auckland.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101442, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Officer authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that
Robert Charles Buckingham,
being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Postmaster at Waikiwi, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 5th day of December, 1938.

Vesting the Control of Scenic Reserves in the Akitio County Council.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby revoke Warrants dated respectively the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and published in the Gazette of the first day of February of that year, and the fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the Gazette of the seventh day of that month, vesting the control of scenic reserves in the Pongaroa Scenic Board and doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserves described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Akitio County Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The period for which the control of the reserves is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserves. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

The said Council shall control the said reserves in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
PONGAROA SCENIC RESERVES.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
SECTIONS 1 to 12, Block IV, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 5 acres 1 rood 35 perches.
Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, Block VII, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 2 acres 3 roods 11 perches.
Part of Section 5 and Sections 6 to 16 inclusive, Block XII; parts of Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and Sections 11, 13, and part Section 14, Block XIII, part Section 16 and Sections 14 and 18 to 24 inclusive, Block IX, Town of Pongaroa; Section 14, Suburbs of Pongaroa; and roads within the above area stopped by Proclamation dated 18th February, 1908, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 12, of the 20th February, 1908, page 608: Area, 48 acres 1 rood 13 perches.
Section 24, Pongaroa Suburbs, Block IX, Mount Cerberus Survey District: Area, 3 roods 30 perches.
Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, Block V, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 3 acres, more or less.
Also Sections 7, 9, 10, 11, and 13, Block VIII, Town of Pongaroa: Area, 1 acre 1 rood, more or less.

Appointing Additional Member to Manginangina Scenic Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by a Warrant dated the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the eleventh day of that month, the control of certain reserves in the North Auckland Land District, known as the Manginangina Scenic Reserves, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Warrant constituted a special Board by the name of the Manginangina Scenic Board, in pursuance of section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908:
And whereas it is considered desirable that the membership of the said Board should be increased:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby appoint
Henry Robert Leslie
to be an additional member of the Manginangina Scenic Board hereinbefore referred to as from the fifteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of December, 1938.
