NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of shareholders of the above-named company will be held on the 23rd day of December, 1938, in the Library, Chamber of Commerce Building, corner Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, at 2.45 p.m., for the purpose of showing how the winding up of the company has been conducted and how the property of the company has been disposed of. NOTICE is hereby given as follows:—

(1) That by an Order of the Court under date the 18th day of November, 1938, by petition preferred unto the Court on the 28th day of October, 1938, it was ordered that the said company be wound up by the Court under the provisions of the said Act and that the Official Assignee at Christchurch be constituted provisional liquidator of the affairs of the company.

(2) That the first meeting of creditors will be held at my office, Old Provincial Building, Durham Street, Christchurch, at 10.30 a.m. on Friday, the 16th day of December, 1938.

(3) That the first meeting of contributories will be held at my said office at 11 a.m. on Friday, the 16th day of December, 1938.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, instalments of principal, and other charges on a loan of £6,000 known as Works Loan, 1938, authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the following works—Napier South Stormwater Drainage; extension of Kennedy Road; contribution towards cost of Tutaekuri River Diversion under the Hawke’s Bay Rivers Act, 1919, and its amendments; construction of and improvement to Marine Parade Amusement Area; acquiring, filling in, and improving South Pond Recreation Area; Breakwater Road Realignment; Breakwater Road Watermain; and the said Napier Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight one-hundredths (8/100d.) of a penny in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Napier; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Napier Borough Council held in the Borough Council Chambers, Tennyson Street, Napier, on the 28th day of November, 1938, and as appearing in the minutes of such meeting.

NOTICE is hereby given that Ambury and Semple, Limited, has changed its name to W. Ambury and Son, Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.

BIRKENHEAD BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the half-yearly instalments of principal and interest and other charges on the loan of eight thousand pounds (£8,000) known as the Birkenhead Borough Council Sewerage Loan, 1938, authorized to be raised by the Birkenhead Borough Council for the purpose of completing the sewerage scheme for which the Birkenhead Borough Council Sewerage Loan, 1936, of twenty-eight thousand pounds (£28,000) was authorized, the Birkenhead Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four-fifths of a penny (⅘d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the special rating (sewerage) area of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said Birkenhead Borough Council Sewerage Loan, 1938, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Birkenhead Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 30th day of November, 1938.

CROMWELL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Local Authorities Interest Reduction and Loans Conversion Act, 1932–33, and in the matter of Cromwell Borough Loans Conversion Order, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cromwell Borough Council has resolved by resolution passed and confirmed as provided by subsection 2 of section 9 of the above-mentioned Act with the consent of the holder of the existing securities and subject to and in accordance with the provisions of the above-mentioned Order to issue new securities in conversion of the following securities:—

(a) Firewood Creek Water Works Loan of an original amount of £1,500 maturing on the 15th June, 1953.

(b) Mt. Pisa Water Supply Loan of £1,200 maturing on the 15th December, 1957.

I hereby certify that the above resolution has been duly passed and confirmed.
