RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND IN BLOCK IV, RANGITOTO SURVEY DISTRICT, AND BLOCK I, OROUA SURVEY DISTRICT, FOR PROTECTIVE WORKS AND A ROAD.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Rangitikei County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute certain public works—namely, the taking of lands at Onepuhi for the construction of protective works for the protection and the maintenance of the bridge where it crosses the Rangitikei River at Onepuhi, and for road purposes; and for the purposes of such public works the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said lands required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council situate at the corner of High Street and William Street, Marton, and is open for inspection, without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the County Clerk at the County Council Chambers at Marton.

All the above-mentioned lands are situated in the Wellington Land Registration District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above-mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Rangitikei County Council at Marton, as aforesaid.

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Municipal Buildings Supplementary Loan, 1938, £550.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 (section 19), and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing for the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a Supplementary Loan of £550, authorized to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the erection and furnishing of the municipal offices, the said Te Aroha Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (¾d.) in the pound upon the rateable annual value of all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the first day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Te Aroha Borough Council held on Wednesday, the 30th day of November, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of shareholders of the above company held in the registered office, Mataura, on the 19th day of October, 1938, it was resolved:—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily and Mr. ROBERT G. STARK, Public Accountant, Invercargill, be appointed liquidator.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of L. B. SCOTT, LIMITED (in voluntary liquidation).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at 4 New Regent Street, Christchurch, on November 14th, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at 4 New Regent Street, Christchurch, on November 30th, 1938, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz.:—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily, and at such last-mentioned meeting L. B. Scott, of 4 New Regent Street, Christchurch, was appointed liquidator for the purposes of winding up.”

THE PUTARURU RESIDENTIAL SITES SYNDICATE, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Putaruru Residential Sites Syndicate, Limited, will be held on Thursday, the 15th day of December, 1938, at three o’clock in the afternoon, at which a resolution for voluntary winding up is to be proposed; and that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at the office of W. J. Gatenby, Solicitor, High Street, Auckland, on the same day, at four o’clock in the afternoon, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be the liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.
