DECLARATION OF ELECTION OF MEMBERS OF THE FIREBLIGHT COMMITTEE OF THE WAIRARAPA COMMERCIAL FRUITGROWING DISTRICT.

I, THOMAS McALISTER DRAIN, Returning Officer for the purposes of the Fireblight Committee Elections under the Fireblight Committee Regulations, 1928, do hereby declare that the following candidates have been duly nominated for the election of members of the Fireblight Committee of the Wairarapa Commercial Fruitgrowing District, nominations for which closed at Wellington at noon on the 30th day of November, 1938:—
Broadbent, Archibald Maltby.
Bunny, Francis Charles.
Kenning, Percy Edward.
Kidd, James Hutton.
Tate, Walter Askin.
As the number of candidates nominated does not exceed the number of members to be elected (five), I hereby declare the said Archibald Maltby Broadbent, Francis Charles Bunny, Percy Edward Kenning, James Hutton Kidd, and Walter Askin Tate to be duly elected.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 23rd January, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 25th January, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.
