to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Levin, as from the 22nd day of November, 1938.
Edgar Thomas Ouston,
to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Te Anga, as from the 22nd day of November, 1938.
John Edwin Leland,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Karioi, as from the 22nd day of November, 1938.
Harvey Ashton Eves,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Takaka, as from the 29th day of November, 1938.
Graham Heymer Bennett,
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Awanui, as from the 26th day of November, 1938.
Michael Joseph McNabb,
to be Registrar of Births and Deaths for the District of Blackball, as from the 25th day of November, 1938.
Cecil George Burgess,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Fertilizers Act, 1927, the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, and the Stock Act, 1908, as on and from the 31st day of October, 1938.
Alfred Riley Murdoch,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, and the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, as on and from the 21st day of October, 1938.
Charles Wooley Worthington,
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Stock Act, 1908, as on and from the 28th day of October, 1938.
William John Cryer,
to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of Otahuhu for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, as on and from the 18th day of November, 1938.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Te Awamutu Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

TE AWAMUTU BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Te Awamutu taken on the 25th day of November, 1938, on the proposal of the Te Awamutu Borough Council to borrow the sum of twenty thousand pounds. The purpose for which the loan is required is for effecting improvements to the borough water-supply system including the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates, the carrying-out of all necessary works, the purchase and erection of buildings and machinery, and the purchase of land and rights over land :—

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Newmarket Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF NEWMARKET.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Newmarket taken on the 23rd day of November, 1938, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £18,500 for the construction of a fully-equipped swimming-pool to Olympic standards, including the installation of purification and heating plants; the provision of tennis-courts, and children’s playing apparatus on the recreational centre; and the removal of existing buildings from the site, including the payment of compensation; the establishment of a new council depot in Laxon Terrace, including the purchase of land, and the erection of the necessary buildings thereon; and the purchase and lay-out of public motor-car parking areas in the borough :—

ROXBURGH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Roxburgh taken on the 17th day of November, 1938, on the proposal of the Roxburgh Borough Council to borrow the sum of five hundred and fifty pounds (£550) for the purpose of paying the borough’s share of the cost of tar sealing the main street :—

Wellington, 7th December, 1938.
PURSUANT to clause 15 of the Import Control Regulations, 1938, it is hereby notified for public information that the following goods shall be exempt from the requirement of a license under the said regulations :—
Goods which were on board ship for export to New Zealand on 5th December, 1938.
Goods which were ordered prior to 5th December, 1938, and which are imported into New Zealand not later than 31st December, 1938.
Bona fide gifts, and goods not exceeding £10 in value (New Zealand currency) in respect of any one importation imported per post by persons for their own use and not for the purposes of sale or business.
Goods imported for exhibition at the New Zealand Centennial Exhibition and entered to be warehoused in the exhibition bond.
Goods being the property of the Crown in respect of the Government of New Zealand.
Goods referred to in sections 139, 140, and subsection 2 of section 141 of the Customs Act, 1913.
Also goods included under the following items of the Customs Tariff :—
433 Heirlooms not exceeding in value £100, on such conditions as may be approved by the Minister.
