Position: Lat., 36° 36′ S.; long., 174° 00′ E. (approx.).
Details: On the 14th October a least depth of 20 ft. M.L.W.S. was obtained when crossing the bar with the lighthouse bearing 076°.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 15th November, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 12th December, 1938.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 14th December, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, and deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Rotorua County.—Rotoiti Survey District.

SECTION 21, Block V: Area, 194 acres 1 rood 32 perches. Capital value, £145. Deposit on deferred payments, £10: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 7s. 9d. Renewable Lease: Half-yearly rent, £2 18s.

Weighted with £145 for improvements, comprising house (in very poor condition), road-boundary fencing, internal fencing, half-share in boundary fencing, clearing and grassing. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £25, the balance of £120 may remain on mortgage to the former lessee of the property, payable over a period of fifteen years by means of half-yearly instalments of principal and interest (5 per cent.) combined amounting to £5 15s. 8d.

A grazing property situated on a back road off Hamurana Road, eleven miles from Ngongotaha Post-office, Railway-station, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards; access by well-formed road from Rotorua except for side road which is in poor condition in places. Undulating to hilly and broken section with no surface water. Ragwort is serious and requires immediate attention. This section is only suitable as a run-off in its present condition, but it is considered that dairying could be carried out later with the provision of a suitable water-supply, which should be obtainable by boring.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 23rd January, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 25th January, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

Waitomo County.—Otanake Survey District.—Te Kuiti Borough.

SECTION 11, Block IV: Area, 1 rood.* Capital value, £110; half-yearly rent, £2 15s.

  • Area subject to slight alteration.

The improvements included in the capital value are grassing, road boundary fencing and half-share in boundary fencing. This is a level section suitable for building purposes or grazing a cow. It has a frontage to William Street and is approximately one and a quarter miles from Te Kuiti Post-office, School, and Railway-station. Access is by good metalled road; town water-supply available.

Reserve in Marlborough Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Blenheim, 16th November, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Blenheim, at 2.30 p’clock p.m. on Monday, 19th December, 1938, under the provisions of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 1, Block II, Heringa Survey District: Area, 50 acres; upset annual rental, £10.

Weighted with £390, repayable as stated below, for improvements, comprising four-roomed cottage, slaughterhouse and yard, open shed, old shed and sheep yards, whare, water-supply, plantation, fencing, clearing and grassing, and draining.

This property is situated on the main Nelson Road about twenty miles from Havelock. Approximately 20 acres comprises flat land and the balance is undulating.

Terms and Conditions of Lease.

(1) Term of lease fourteen years from 1st January, 1939. The lessor to have the right, in the event of the land being required for public purposes, to determine the lease on giving twelve month’s notice in writing of the intention in that behalf.

(2) Possession to be given on 1st January, 1939, conditional on required deposits being paid.

(3) Six month’s rent, together with one guinea lease fee to be paid immediately on the fall of the hammer and thereafter rent to be payable half-yearly in advance on 1st July and 1st January each year.

(4) Property to be weighted with the sum of £390 for improvements. If the purchaser of the lease is any person other than the person entitled to receive payment for the improvements, the amount of £390 to be paid in cash on the fall of the hammer.
