BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the Russell-Whangarei Road—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the clerk to the said Council situate at Kawakawa and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the County Chambers, Kawakawa.

SCHEDULE.

WAIMUMU SLUICING COMPANY, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of the Waimumu Sluicing Company, Limited.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders of the Waimumu Sluicing Company, Limited, held on Saturday, 15th October, 1938, the following resolution was passed as a special resolution:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily.”

BOROUGH OF UPPER HUTT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,000 authorized to be raised by the Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing a fire truck with pump and other equipment attached, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one hundred and fifty-two thousandths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Borough of Upper Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Upper Hutt Borough Council at a special meeting of the Council held on the 26th day of May, 1938.

Advertisement of Winding-up Petition.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 4th day of October, 1938, presented to the said Court by Victor Roy Crowhurst, Official Assignee in Bankruptcy for the District of Hamilton:

And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Hamilton on the 4th day of November, 1938, at 9.45 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

The notice must state the name, address, and description of the person, or, if a firm, the name, address, and description of the firm, and an address for service within three miles of the office of the Supreme Court at Hamilton and must be signed by the person or firm or his or their solicitor (if any), and must be served, or, if posted, must be sent by post in sufficient time to reach the above-named petitioner’s address for service not later than 4 o’clock in the afternoon of Thursday, the 3rd day of November, 1938.

TAUMARUNUI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Taumarunui County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £13,000 authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui County Council under the above-mentioned Act:—

“For the purpose of building fifty new bridges in concrete, steel, hardwood, or a combination of those materials, the sum of £10,000;

“For building culverts of a diameter of three feet or larger, in concrete, the sum of £2,000; and

“For building a county office at Taumarunui, in concrete, the sum of £1,000;

hereby makes and levies a special rate of three farthings in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Taumarunui, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such, being a period of thirty-three years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of Cooke’s Ritz, Ltd. (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given in accordance with the provisions of the Companies Act, 1933, section 241 (2) that a general meeting of the company will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 16th day of November, 1938, at 10.30 a.m., for the purpose of receiving the liquidator’s accounts and report on the winding up; and, further, that in accordance with section 241 (3) a meeting of creditors of the company will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, Swanson Street, Auckland, on Wednesday, the 16th day of November, 1938, at 11 a.m., for the same purpose.
