At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of October, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
Pursuant to section five of the Native Purposes Act, 1937, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby set apart and reserve the Native land described in the Schedule hereto as a Native reservation for the common use of the owners thereof as a recreation-ground.

Authorizing the Invercargill City Council to erect Electric Lines within Portion of the City of Invercargill.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of October, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Invercargill City Council (hereinafter referred to as "the licensee"), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area of supply described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

  1. PURPOSES OF LINES.
    The said lines shall be used for street-lighting purposes only.
  2. LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
    The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
    The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this license, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
  3. DURATION OF LICENSE.
    Unless sooner lawfully determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1958.
    SCHEDULE.
    Lines adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electrical energy within that area comprising those portions of the City of Invercargill, shown bordered yellow on the plan marked P.W.D. 100600, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works.

    Officers authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
    GALWAY, Governor-General.
    Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

    David James Lattimore, Deputy Chief Postmaster, Christchurch.
    Charles Edward Brian, Deputy Chief Postmaster, Dunedin.
    Alice Ross (Mrs.), Postmistress, Kahuika.
    Montague Melrose Simpson, Postmaster, Masterton.
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of October, 1938.

    GALWAY, Governor-General.
    Pursuant to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Captain Hugh Merriman Barnes, R.N., being an officer in the service of the Crown holding the office of Commanding Officer of H.M.S. "Philomel," is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 14th day of October, 1938.

    Appointing a Returning Officer under the Lower Clutha River Improvement Act, 1938.
    GALWAY, Governor-General.
    In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Lower Clutha River Improvement Act, 1938, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Hugh Henry Lyall, Esquire, of Balclutha, Secretary, to be the returning officer to hold the first election of such Commissioners as require to be elected under the said Act.
    As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 18th day of October, 1938.
