Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Hawarden Memorial
Hall Board.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day
of October, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public
Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend
the period for which the control of the reserve described in
the Schedule hereto (being a reserve for a site for a memorial
hall) was vested in the Hawarden Memorial Hall Board, as
constituted by an Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight,
and published in the Gazette of the third day of May, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, for five years from
the twenty-fourth day of April, one thousand nine hundred
and thirty-eight, to the twenty-third day of April, one
thousand nine hundred and forty-three, and doth hereby
declare that the provisions of the said Order in Council shall
continue in force for the said extended period.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 33·6 perches,
more or less, being Reserve No. 4112, situated in the Town-
ship of Hawarden, Block VII, Waipara Survey District, and
bounded as follows: Towards the north by Lot 7 on deposited
plan No. 7103, 272 links; towards the east by Lot 9 on said
deposited plan, 83·49 links; towards the south by a right-
of-way 1 chain wide, 232·45 links; and again towards the
south-west by the Horsley Downs-Waikari Road, 92·4 links.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 22/3637, deposited in the Head Office, Department
of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered
red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Haldane Public Hall
Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of
October, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is a reserve duly set apart for a site for a public hall:
And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said
reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter
provided:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon
him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains,
and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control
of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto for the period
of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended
or revoked under the said Act) in the undermentioned persons,
namely:-
William John Weir,
Thomas Conway,
Edment Trewin,
Arthur William Ericson, and
Robert Henry Sparke,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board
by the name of the Haldane Public Hall Board (hereinafter
referred to as "the Board"), with the powers and subject
to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:-

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the last Wednesday in each month at eight o'clock p.m.
    at the Haldane Public Hall, or at such other time or place
    as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first
    meeting shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of
    October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.
  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.
    The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
    successor.
  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman,
    provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given
    to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at
    such special meeting; and no other business than that so
    specified shall be transacted at such meeting.
  4. Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum.
    Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such
    meeting.
  6. If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the
    seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any
    member absents himself without reasonable cause from three
    consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General
    shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member
    of the Board in his stead.
  7. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at the meeting.
  8. The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an
    annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year
    a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous
    year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a
    statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for
    such year. A copy of every such report and statement,
    certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the
    Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual
    meeting.
  9. The Board shall control the said reserve and the building
    erected thereon for the purpose of a public hall, and shall
    also afford settlers and residents of Haldane and the
    surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the
    said building as may from time to time be determined by the
    Board : Provided that the Board shall have power to fix
    reasonable charges for the use of the said building.

    SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
    Lot 1, D.P. 3407, being part Section 3, Block X, Waikawa
    Survey District, and being all the land comprised in Certifi-
    cate of Title, Volume 149, folio 265, Southland Registry :
    Area, 1 rood 8 perches, more or less.

    Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Mainene Domain.

    ORDER IN COUNCIL.
    At the Government House at Wellington, this 19th day of
    October, 1938.
    Present:
    HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
    IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
    section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and
    National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-
    General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
    with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
    said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
    John Nobilo,
    Reginald Walter Underwood,
    William James Ward,
    George Edward Wharfe, and
    Edwin Stanley Yates
    to be the Mainene Domain Board, having control of the
    land described in the Schedule hereto ; and doth hereby
    appoint Tuesday, the twenty-second day of November, one
    thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, at one thirty o'clock
    p.m., as the time when, and the Mainene Domain Hall as
    the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.
    SCHEDULE.
    NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-MAINENE DOMAIN.
    ALLOTMENT 201, Oruawharo Parish : Area, 6 acres 1 rood
    18·4 perches, more or less.
