Amending an Order in Council authorizing the Hume (Cobb
River) Electric-power Company, Limited, to use Water from
the Cobb River for the Purpose of generating Electricity and
to erect certain Electric Lines.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1938.

His Excellency The Governor-General In Council.
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council and with the consent of the licensee, doth hereby
amend the Order in Council dated the twelfth day of July,
one thousand nine hundred and thirty-five, and published
in the Gazette of the eighteenth day of the same month, at
page 1941 (hereinafter referred to as the “said license”),
authorizing the Hume (Cobb River) Electric-power Company,
Limited, to use water from the Cobb River for the purpose
of generating electricity, and to lay, construct, put up, place,
and use certain electric lines ; as amended by a further Order
in Council dated the nineteenth day of August, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the twentieth day of the same month, at page 1611,
and further amended by an Order in Council dated the seventh
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day
of the same month, at page 1841 ; by substituting the words
“forty years and five months” for the words “thirty-eight
years” in clause five of the said license, and by substituting
the words “four years and five months” for the words “three
years and one month,” at the commencement of clause nine
of the said license. Subject to the aforesaid amendments the
terms and conditions of the said license are hereby confirmed.

Conferring Special Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1938.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General In Council.
PURSUANT to section thirty-four of the Native Land
Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council,
doth hereby confer on the Native Land Court jurisdiction
to hear and determine, as between Natives, any claim to the
ownership or possession of a greenstone Patu known as or
called “Te Harakeke” which is now in the possession of
Mrs. Kira Konui Anaru, of Wright Street, Wellington, in
the Ikaroa Native Land Court District, Aboriginal Native,
with power and jurisdiction to make such order or orders as
the circumstances of the case may require.

Consenting to the Assignment to George Kellow, of Reefton'
Linesman, by James William Patterson, of Reefton, of his
Rights, Powers, and Privileges under an Order in Council
dated 14th December, 1934.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power
in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the assignment
to George Kellow, of Reefton, Linesman, by James William
Patterson, of Reefton, of his rights, powers, and privileges
under an Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of
December, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-four, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 94 of the twentieth
day of the same month, authorizing him to use water from
Burkes Creek for the purpose of generating electricity.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
October, 1938.
Present:
His Excellency The Governor-General In Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section
seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks
Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby cancel the reservation for the purposes of a
rabbit-proof fence over the land described in the Schedule
hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being
vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal
under the Land Act, 1924.
