NOTICE is hereby given in terms of the Electoral Act, 1927, that the following nominations of candidates for the Maori Electoral Districts have been received, viz. :—

NOTICE OF POLLING-DAY.
I, JAMES HOPE ROBERTSON, Returning Officer for the Northern Maori Electoral District, do hereby give notice that, more than one candidate having been duly nominated for election as member of Parliament for the said district, the poll will be taken at the several polling-places of the said district on the 14th day of October, 1938, being the date fixed by the writ.
Hours of polling are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Position : End of Training Pier, lat., 36° 49′·9 S. ; long., 174° 47′·3 E. (approx.).
Details : An electrically operated whistle sounding a series of short blasts has been established in the above position.

ADMIRALTY PUBLICATIONS.
Lights and W/T. Navigational Aids : Omission from Small Scale Charts.
LIGHTS and W/T. navigational aids will not in future be inserted on charts of a smaller scale than 1/2,500,000 with certain exceptions, specified below.
Existing information will be removed from the charts as opportunity arises ; meanwhile the following caution is to be inserted on the charts affected under or beside the title.
CAUTION.
This chart is not corrected by Notices to Mariners in respect of Lights or W/T. navigational aids.
The following charts are exceptions to the foregoing and will continue to show all W/T. navigational aids, together with the principal lights :—
Nos. 55, 70, 367, 594, 596, 597, 1012, 1013, 1226, 2759A, 2759B, 2899, 3272, and 3273.
On charts Nos. 2058A, 2058B, and 2058C W/T. direction-finding stations will continue to be shown.
