The Rural Intermediate Credit Act, 1927.—Appointment of District Intermediate Credit Supervisor and Chairman of District Board and Appointment of Member of District Board.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Rural Intermediate Credit Board, acting in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon it by section 14 of the Rural Intermediate Credit Act, 1927, and of all other powers and authorities it in that behalf enabling, has appointed—

Rupert John Wilson Hall,

Branch Manager of the State Advances Corporation at New Plymouth, to be District Intermediate Credit Supervisor for the Taranaki Rural Intermediate Credit District in succession to William Richie Beattie.

And it is hereby further notified that the Rural Intermediate Credit Board, acting in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred on it by the said section 14 and by paragraph 10 of the Regulations made under the said Act, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 22nd December, 1927, and of all other powers it in that behalf enabling, has made the following appointments to the Taranaki District Rural Intermediate Credit Board, the appointments to take effect as from the 1st day of December, 1937, the said

Rupert John Wilson Hall

to be chairman in succession to the said William Richie Beattie, and

Lawrence Hickford,

of Okato, farmer, as a member of the Board in succession to Mr. S. Blake, deceased.

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Nelson, as from the 24th day of January, 1938.

Sergeant John O’Shea,

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Port Chalmers for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as from the 18th day of January, 1938.

BOROUGH OF ROTORUA.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Rotorua taken on the 19th day of January, 1938, on the proposal of the Rotorua Borough Council to borrow the sum of £8,300 for the purpose of purchasing the property of the late Mrs. E. A. Seddon Johnson, and acquiring the freehold of same as a permanent endowment for the Rotorua Municipal Library.

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was . . . 188
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 42
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
