I, JOHN EATON HARDWICK-SMITH, M.B., B.Ch., Cantab., 1938, now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 24th September next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

AUCKLAND TRANSPORT BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, the Auckland Transport Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and the instalments of principal and interest and all other charges on a loan of £500,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland Transport Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing or redeeming debentures of loans in respect of which the Auckland Transport Board is liable, such purposes being more fully set out in Order in Council made on the 20th July, 1938, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 57 of the 28th July, 1938, at page 1733, the said Auckland Transport Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fourth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property comprising the whole of the Auckland Transport District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the order of the Supreme Court for New Zealand at Auckland dated the 19th day of August, 1938, confirming the reduction of capital of the above-named company from £10,000 to £1,000 and of the minute approved by the Court showing with respect to the capital of the company as altered the several particulars required by the above statute, was registered by the Registrar of Companies on the 24th day of August, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 22nd day of August, 1938, presented to the said Court by Royds Bros. and Kirk (Southland), Limited, a duly incorporated company carrying on at Tay Street, Invercargill, the business of a general merchant and wholesaler: And that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Invercargill on the 1st day of November, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of the order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his Counsel for that purpose and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that Electrometals Limited has changed its name to Shield Products (1938), Limited, and that the new name was this day entered on my Register of Companies in place of the former name.
