Crown Land set apart for the Purposes of Part I of the Housing Act, 1919.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart for the purposes of Part I of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—BOROUGH OF ROTORUA.
SECTION 22, Block LXV, Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, and 29, Block LXVII, and Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 16, 17, and 18, Block LXVIII, Town of Rotorua: Total area, 4 acres 0 roods 24·6 perches. (Auckland plan S.O. 13178.)
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of August, 1938.

Proclaiming a Road-line laid off through Hohotaka and Puketapu Blocks, Blocks III and IV, Piopiotea, Blocks I, II, and III, Maungaku, and Block XIV, Puketapu Survey Districts, Auckland Land District, to be a Public Road.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the twenty-third day of November, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, duly laid off as a road-line in pursuance of sections four hundred and seventy-nine, and four hundred and eighty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931:
And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that it is in the public interest that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road, and a notification to that effect has been forwarded to the Minister of Lands, in terms of section four hundred and eighty-six of the said Act:
And whereas one month’s notice in writing of the intention to proclaim the said road-line as a public road has been given by the Surveyor-General to the local authority of the district concerned, in terms of subsection two of section four hundred and eighty-seven of the said Act:
And whereas it is now expedient that the said road-line should be proclaimed as a public road:
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four hundred and eighty-seven of the Native Land Act, 1931, do hereby proclaim as a public road the road-line described in the Schedule hereto.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Forest Hill Scenic Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act,) in the undermentioned persons, namely,—
The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Land District of Southland, ex officio,
His Worship the Mayor of Invercargill, ex officio,
The Chairman of the Southland County Council, ex officio,
Ewen John McLauchlan, and
William Matthew Norman,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Forest Hill Scenic Board (herein referred to as “ the Board ”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The first meeting of the Board shall be held on Thursday, the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, at two o’clock p.m., in the Land Board Room, Lands and Survey Department, Invercargill, and thereafter the Board shall meet for the transaction of business at such time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.
