MOTUEKA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Motueka taken on the 1st day of October, 1937, on the proposal of the Motueka Borough Council to borrow the sum of £1,650 for providing footpaths in the principal streets of the Borough of Motueka :—
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 93
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 92
Informal votes were .. .. .. .. 3
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BROWNS CO-OPERATIVE DAIRY FACTORY COMPANY, LTD.
IN LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of the Browns Co-operative Dairy Factory Company, Ltd. (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the Public Hall, Browns, on Wednesday, the 6th day of July, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed.
“ That this company be wound up voluntarily.”
At the said meeting, HERBERT JAMES LILICO, Winton, Company Secretary, was appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution.
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held on the 30th day of June, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed :—
(1) “ That the company be wound up voluntarily.
(2) “ That Mr. JAMES KERNICK, of Thames, be and he is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.
(3) “ That the remuneration of the liquidator shall be fixed at such meeting.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that by a minute signed by the shareholders of the above company pursuant to section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933, and dated 24th June, 1938, it was resolved :—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that the OFFICIAL ASSIGNEE, AUCKLAND, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”
Notice is also hereby given that a meeting of creditors of the above-named company, summoned for Monday, the 4th day of July, 1938, pursuant to section 300 (7) of the Companies Act, 1933, resolved :—

COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND AND CLOSE A ROAD.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the formation, construction, and metalling of a road—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule No. 1 hereto are required and the land in Schedule No. 2 is road required to be closed :
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken and of the road to be closed is deposited in the public office of the County Clerk to the said Council situate in Childers Road, Gisborne, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours :
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands or the closing of said road, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of the said lands or closing of the said road, must state their objections in writing, and send same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Childers Road, Gisborne.

Approximate area of parcels of land required to be taken : 3 acres 0 roods 36·04 perches.
Being portion of Section Waiomoko 1c ; coloured pink.
All situated in the County of Cook in the Registration District of Gisborne and more particularly shown on plan 1532, brown.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 7th day of July, 1938, cancelled the registry of St. Therese of the Little Flower’s Branch, No. 882, of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society (Register No. 198/117), held at Ngaruawahia, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.
