Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth revoke an Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of that month, constituting a Board to control the Bruce Bay Public Hall, and doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely :—
Stanley Scott,
Clive Harold Clark,
Hone Te Ahuru Mahuika,
Francis Patrick Stuart,
James Francis Valentine,
Walter Rolfe Smith, and
William Graham Bissell,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Bruce Bay Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the last Friday in each month at seven thirty o'clock p.m., at the Bruce Bay Public Hall, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Friday, the twenty-second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days' notice of any such meeting is given to each member specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself without reasonable cause from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

The Board shall have prepared and submitted at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister of Lands as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve and the building erected thereon for the purposes of a public hall, and shall also afford settlers and residents of Bruce Bay and the surrounding district such facilities for meeting within the said hall as may from time to time be determined by the Board: Provided that the Board shall have power to fix reasonable charges for the use of the said hall.

Revoking the Prohibition imposed on the Importation of certain Motor-vehicles.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of July, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section forty-six of the Customs Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made on the twenty-second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published in the Gazette on the fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at page 538, prohibiting the importation, save with the consent of the Minister of Customs, of certain motor-vehicles.

Land permanently reserved in the Canterbury Land District for Recreation Purposes.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes of the said section mentioned :
And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month, but not later than six months, after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by the Warrant dated the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and published in the Gazette of the thirty-first day of that month, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for recreation purposes :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the land described in the Schedule hereto for recreation purposes for which purpose the said land was so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
All that area containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being part Reserve 4387 (formerly parts of Rural Sections 811 and 589), situated in Block III, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded as follows : Towards the south-west by Rural Section 419, 1042:85 links ; towards the north-west by Crown land and other parts of Rural Sections 589 and 811, 1000 links; towards the north-east by Rural Section 1527, 1000 links ; and towards the south-east by Rural Section 26420 and the Kaputone Stream. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/951c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 6th day of July, 1938.
