HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following retirement and removal from the list of officers of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve (New Zealand Division) :—
Lieutenant-Commander William Theodore Edney, R.N.V.R. (N.Z.D.), placed on the Retired List, to date 31st December, 1937, with permission to wear the prescribed uniform.
Lieutenant Howard Leon Mallitte removed from the list of officers of the R.N.V.R. (N.Z.D.), for non-availability for service, to date 20th December, 1937.

A POLL of ratepayers of the Borough of Greymouth (other than the ratepayers in the Cobden area of the said Borough) taken on Wednesday, the 12th day of January, 1938, for the purpose of obtaining consent of the ratepayers of the Borough of Greymouth (other than the ratepayers of the Cobden area of the said Borough) to raise a special loan of £66,000 for :—
(a) Extension of sewerage to Blaketown and that portion of the borough south of North Town Belt, £57,000,
(b) Financial assistance to property owners by way of loan to connect with sewerage system, £9,000,
resulted as follows :—
