I HEREBY give notice that pursuant to the authority conferred on the Bureau of Industry under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936, the following decisions in respect to applications for licenses have been made.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Taking of Fish for Sale.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) C. Bishop, Tapu, Thames, for a license to take fish at Thames by means of a 24 ft. 3½ h.p. launch, using long-lines and supplying the Thames market.
(2) R. H. Edinger, Pounawea, Owaka, Dunedin, for a license to take fish at Pounawea by means of a 20½ ft. 5 h.p. launch, using set and drag nets and hand-lines, and supplying the local market.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 11th July, 1938.

Notice to Persons affected by Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Manufacture and Assembly of Wet Batteries.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from Battery Equipment Supply Co. (Pty.), Ltd., Sydney, for a license to manufacture storage battery plates in New Zealand.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 14th July, 1938.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.
I HEREBY give notice that applications have been received from—
(1) New Zealand Pinelands Pty., Ltd., for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit on Matakana Island.
(2) Cawthray Motors, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at their premises in Broadway, Stratford.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 10th July, 1938. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same and include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the person making the representations.

Notice of Proposed Cancellation of Registration.
Department of Labour,
Wellington, 29th June, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Canterbury Carriers Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 194, situated at Christchurch, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.
