ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of June, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Goldfields Dredging Company, Limited, being a company duly incorporated and having its registered office at 241A Stafford Street, Timaru (hereinafter referred to as “the licensee”), to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.
- PURPOSES OF LINES.
THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.
- LICENSE TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, and with all regulations made or to be made in amplification or amendment thereof or in substitution therefor. The conditions directed to be implied in all licenses by the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, shall be incorporated herein and form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a) and (f) of Regulation 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The transmission voltage shall be approximately 11,000 volts between phases. The distribution voltage shall be approximately 400 volts between phases, and 230 volts between any phase and neutral.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner lawfully determined, this license shall continue in force until the 31st day of March, 1942, or until electrical energy is available from an Electric-power Board or other general public source, whichever is the earlier.

SCHEDULE.
LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electricity leading from the licensee’s generating station situated at Wye Creek in Run 331, Block V, Coneburn Survey District, and proceeding in a northerly direction generally along the Kingston-Staircase Track and a public road to the Kawarau River, across that river to a point opposite the southern boundary of Section 16, Block I, Shotover Survey District, and further lines leading from that point (1) in an easterly direction generally along the northern bank of the Kawarau River, across the Shotover River to the termination of the licensee’s claim-site on the Kawarau River in Block 3, Shotover Survey District, and (2) in a northerly direction generally along a public road through Blocks 1 and 2 to the licensee’s upper claim on the Shotover River at the southern boundary of Block 4, Shotover Survey District; also further lines from the licensee’s upper claim described in paragraph (2) hereof, leading in an easterly and a southerly direction generally along the western bank of the Shotover River to its confluence with the Kawarau River; also further lines proceeding from a point on the western bank of the Shotover River in a south-westerly direction along the boundary between Blocks 1 and 2, Shotover Survey District, and joining the lines described in paragraph (2) above; all being situated in the Land District of Otago, and being more particularly delineated by means of red lines on plan marked P.W.D. 98569, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Authorizing the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board to construct, maintain, and use certain Electric Lines.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of June, 1938.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board (hereinafter with its successors and assigns referred to as “the licensee”), subject to the conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use electric lines within the area described in the Second Schedule hereto; and, further, for the purposes of section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, subject to the said conditions, doth hereby authorize the Board to construct and maintain the said electrical works.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
- LICENSE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
In respect of the lines hereby authorized, the licensee shall comply with the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations, 1935, and with any regulations made or to be made in amendment or amplification thereof or in substitution therefor. The conditions by clause 27–11 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935, directed to be implied in all licenses shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this license except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a) and (f) of clause 21–01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations, 1935. The lines shall be constructed as for a primary voltage of 11,000 volts between phases and may at the outset be operated at a pressure of 3,300 volts between phases. The secondary-distribution voltage shall be approximately 400 volts between phases and 230 volts between any phase and neutral.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
Unless sooner determined in accordance with the provisions hereinafter expressed, this license shall continue in force until the 27th day of June, 1963. Upon the expiry of the said term, or upon the sooner determination of this license by revocation or otherwise, all rights hereby granted to the licensee shall cease and determine; but such expiration or determination shall not relieve the licensee of any liability theretofore incurred under this license.
- CHARGES FOR ELECTRICAL ENERGY.
The charges for electrical energy shall not exceed 1s. per unit for lighting purposes and 6d. per unit for motor-power, heating, or cooking purposes; provided that “lighting purposes” shall include the operation of motor-generators for lighting purposes; and provided further that if accounts are paid within fourteen days of due date the charges shall not exceed 9d. per unit for lighting purposes and 4½d. per unit for motor-power, heating, and cooking purposes.
In the case of wholesale supply, the charge shall not exceed £16 per kilovolt-ampere of half-hourly maximum demand per year plus ½d. per unit. “Wholesale supply” for this purpose shall be held to be a supply in respect of which the consumer shall guarantee to pay not less than £180 per year.
- TIME FOR COMPLETION OF WORKS.
The period for completion of the works hereby authorized shall be three years from the date of this license.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
LINES adapted for the supply of electrical energy by the system of supply hereinbefore described within the area added to the Te Awamutu Electric-power District by Proclamation dated the eighteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-first day of the same month, at page 2363, such area comprising portion of the County of Otorohanga; the electric lines now proposed to be erected being shown by means of red lines on plan P.W.D. 98109, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
