INVERCARGILL CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Invercargill City Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Invercargill City Council Promotion of Employment Loan, 1938, of £47,000 authorized to be raised by the Invercargill City Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of public works, including streets, footpaths, water and drainage improvements within the city, and construction and improvements of embankments, and alterations and improvements to the Victoria Hall, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal six three seven pence (0·637d.) in the pound on the rateable value on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the City of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Invercargill City Council held on Thursday, 2nd June, 1938.

WAIRARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of nine hundred pounds (£900) authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the Board’s distribution lines a distance of approximately two miles and a half along and adjacent to the Upper Wangaehu Valley Road, the said Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (¾d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Upper Wangaehu Special-rating Area comprising all that land in the Wellington Land District in the Masterton County bounded by a line commencing at a point situated on the north-east corner of Section 210, Block VII, Kopuaranga Survey District ; thence following in a southerly direction the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 210 to its south-east corner ; thence following in a south-easterly direction the north-east boundary of Section 119, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District, to the south-west corner of Section 117, Block XII, Kopuaranga Survey District ; thence following in a south-westerly direction the south-east boundary of Section 119, the south-east boundary of Section 120, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District, to the south-west corner o the

said Section 120 ; thence following the southern boundary of Section 121, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District, to the north-east corner of Lot 3 of Section 9, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District ; thence following in a southerly direction the eastern boundary of the said Lot 3 of Section 9 to its south-east corner ; thence following in a westerly direction the southern boundary of the said Lot 3 of Section 9 to the point where such boundary meets the Wangaehu River ; thence following in a northerly direction the left bank of the Wangaehu River to the south-west corner of Section 129, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District ; thence following in an easterly direction the southern boundary of the said Section 129 to its south-east corner ; thence following in a north-easterly direction the western boundary of Section 121, Block XI, Kopuaranga Survey District, to its north-west corner ; thence following in a westerly direction the southern boundary of Section 113, Block VII, Kopuaranga Survey District, to its south-west corner ; thence following in a northerly direction the western boundary of the said Section 113 to its north-west corner ; thence following in an easterly direction generally the northern boundary of the said Section 113 and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 114 and 210, Block VII, Kopuaranga Survey District, to the starting point at the north-east corner of the last-named section : and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the thirtieth day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Board held on the 26th day of May, 1938.

N.Z., 1938, now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 8th July next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Auckland.

HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY COUNCIL.

DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL THAT THE ADOPTION OF THE SYSTEM OF RATING PROPERTY ON THE BASIS OF THE UNIMPROVED VALUE THEREOF BE RESCINDED IN THE HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.

PURSUANT to sections 42 and 44 of the Rating Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the rate-payers of the Hawke’s Bay County taken on Wednesday, the 11th day of May, 1938, on the proposal that the adoption of the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be rescinded in the said county :—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was.. 1,794
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1,128

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
