Notice of Intention to take Land in Block IX, Otahuhu Survey District, for the Use, Convenience, and Enjoyment of an Aerodrome (Radio-receiving and Direction-finding Station-site).

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of an aerodrome—viz., the construction of a radio-receiving and direction-finding station for the use of aircraft: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Mangere and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be taken :—

All being parts Allotment 62, Manurewa Parish.

Situated in Block IX, Otahuhu Survey District. (S.O. 29459.)

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 99338, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed in the County of Mount Herbert.—(Notice No. Ag. 3559.)

THE following special order made by the Mount Herbert County Council on the 6th day of May, 1938, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1928, the Mount Herbert County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto is a noxious weed within the County of Mount Herbert.

SCHEDULE.

Hemlock (Conium Maculatum).

Including Additional Land in the Southland Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Southland Development Scheme (formerly known as the Oraka and Kawhakaputaputa Development Scheme).

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land in the South Island Native Land Court District, known as Section 14, Block VII, Alton Survey District, containing 280 acres, more or less, and being all the land in Certificate of Title, Vol. 88, folio 125, Southland Registration District.

Dated at Wellington, this 31st day of May, 1938.

Engineers’ Registration Act, 1924.—Examinations, October, 1938.

ENTRIES for the next examinations to be held in accordance with the regulations issued under section 16 of the above Act close on 30th June, 1938. Entrance forms received after that date cannot be considered. Entrance forms will be supplied on request to the Registrar, Engineers’ Registration Board, Wellington. Applicants should state whether they require forms for civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Civil engineering candidates should note that for the October, 1938, examinations and thereafter two papers in engineering drawings will be set for section B.

The Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part III).—Notice respecting Unclaimed Property.

TO the owner of one undivided fourth share or interest in all that piece or parcel of land containing 51 acres 1 rood 39 perches, be the same a little more or less, being Section 29, Block III, Cobden Survey District, and being all the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 13, folio 200 (Westland Registry), the registered proprietor of which is THOMAS WALTER HUNGERFORD, of Cobden, Contractor.

Whereas after due inquiry the owner of the said interest in the said land cannot be found: And whereas the said owner has no known agent in New Zealand: Now the Public Trustee hereby calls on such owner within six (6) months from the date of the publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee the title of such owner to the said land, and if such owner fails or neglects so to do the Public Trustee will exercise with regard to the said interest in the said land all the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part III) and its amendments.
