Land taken for River-conservation and Flood-prevention Purposes in Block I, Otago Survey District, Borough of Masterton.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for river-conservation and flood-prevention purposes, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land taken :

0 0 35·9 Lot 4, D.P. 64, and being part Sections 57 and 58, Masterton Small Farm Settlement.
0 1 9·5 Lot 6, D.P. 64, and being part Sections 57 and 58, Masterton Small Farm Settlement.
Situated in Block I, Otago Survey District (Masterton Borough). (S.O. 3302.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98984, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of May, 1938.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for defence purposes; and I also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the thirtieth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of Crown land set apart : 5,223 acres.
Being Reserve 4385, formerly part Reserve 959, Ellerslie Lake.
Situated in Blocks IX and XIII, Halswell, XVI, Leeston, and I, Ellesmere Survey Districts. (Canterbury R.D.). (S.P. 2494.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98253, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as street : 2 roods 39·9 perches.
Being Lot 2, D.P. 11137, and being part Reserve 344.
Situated in Borough of Timaru (Canterbury R.D.). (S.P. 2505.)
