Date of Observance of Birthday of His Majesty King George VI.

Wellington, 11th May, 1938.

I T is hereby notified for general information that in terms
of the Sovereign's Birthday Observance Act, 1937,
the Birthday of His Majesty King George VI will be
observed in New Zealand this year on Monday, the 6th June,
and in every subsequent year of His reign on the first
Monday in June.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Taking of Fish.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been
received from--

(1) H. J. F. Raki Raki, for a license to take fish at Catlins by
means of a 26Β½ ft. 25 h.p. launch, using hand-lines
and trawling, and supplying the Dunedin market.

(2) E. P. Jenkins, for a license to take fish at French Pass
by means of a 28 ft. 5 h.p. launch, using set and drag
nets and long and hand lines, and supplying the
Wellington market.

(3) E. W. Cooley, for a license to take fish at Petone by
means of a 15 ft. 4 h.p. launch, using long and hand
lines and trawling, and supplying the Petone
market.

(4) Renton and Greeves, for a license to take fish at Port
Chalmers and Newhaven by means of a 77Β½ ft.
40 h.p. steam vessel, using set and drag nets, long
and hand lines, and trawling, and supplying the
Balclutha, Lawrence, Roxburgh, and Beaumont
markets.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 1st June, 1938.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under
Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Retail Sale of Motor-spirit.

I HEREBY give notice that applications have been
received from--

(1) L. E. Farr, for permission to transfer one petrol pump
from a position two miles distant from Cust to a
position in Cust.

(2) C. S. Robertson, for a license to sell (retail) motor-
spirit at his garage at Turua.

(3) L. Boyd, for a license to sell (retail) motor-spirit at
his store in Turua.

(4) Rakaia Transport Service Co., Ltd., to take over two
petrol pumps from C. C. D. Wilkie, and transfer
them to a new site at the corner of Rolleston Street
and Main South Road, Rakaia, and install two
additional pumps to be transferred from the applicant
company's present premises in Rolleston Street to
form a new service station.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by
the decisions of the Bureau in respect of these applications,
and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must
furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the
undersigned not later than the 2nd June, 1938. All repre-
sentations must set out clearly the grounds for same and
include a statement showing the gallonage throughput of
petrol sold and the nature of the business conducted by the
person making the representations.

Constituting Taihape Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment
Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares
the Native land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject
to Part I of the said Act and to be called or known as the
Taihape Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land in the Aotea Native Land Court District,
situate in Block I, Apiti Survey District, and known as
Otamakapua 1F 2A Block, containing 211 acres 0 roods
16 perches, more or less, and being all the land in Certificate
of Title, Volume 255, folio 8.

Dated at Wellington, this 13th day of May, 1938.
