from the sea to the south-western corner of the said Section No. 106; thence by Sections Nos. 106, 103, 108, and 104, Whangape Parish aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the northern boundary of Whangape Parish to the Mangatea Stream; thence by the said Mangatea Stream to its junction with the Opuatia Stream; thence by the Opuatia Stream to Section No. 8, Parish of Opuatia; thence by the western and northern boundary-lines of the said Section No. 8 to the Opuatia Stream; thence towards the west generally by the said Opuatia Stream to the Waikato River; thence by the left bank of the Waikato River to a point opposite the mouth of the Whangamarino River; thence towards the north-west generally by a right line to the mouth of that river; thence by the said Whangamarino River to its confluence with the Maramaru River; thence by the said Maramaru River to its confluence with the Mangatangi River; thence by the said Mangatangi River to the northern boundary-line of the Koheroa Parish; thence again towards the north by the northern boundary-line of that parish to the Firth of Thames; thence by the Firth of Thames to the mouth of the Pukorokoro Creek; thence southerly generally along the confiscation line to its intersection by a line running from Te Aroha Trig. Station to Putakauere on the Waikato River; thence along that line to Putakauere aforesaid; thence along a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 22, Parish of Whangape; thence along the southern and eastern shores of Lake Whangape to its southernmost corner; thence along a right line running west-south-west to the sea; thence towards the west by the sea to the place of commencement.

THAMES DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded on west by the Rangiriri District hereinbefore described from Otane Trig. Station to the mouth of the Pukorokoro Creek; thence southerly, easterly, and northerly along the shore of the Firth of Thames to the mouth of the Waikawau River; thence up that river to its source; thence to and along the summit of the dividing range between the East and West Coast to a point due west of the south-western corner of Wharekawa East No. 1 Block; thence towards the south by a right line to that corner; thence towards the north-west generally by the Tairua River and the northern boundary of Wharekawa East No. 1 Block to the sea; again towards the east by the sea to the mouth of the Otahu River; thence up that river to its source; thence along a right line to the nearest source of the Hikutai River; and by the said Hikutai River to its confluence with the Waihou River; thence by a right line due west to the Piako River; thence up the middle of the Piako River to its intersection with the road forming the western boundary of Section 4, Block VI, Waihou Survey District; thence northerly along that road to the road forming the north-western boundary of Lot 1 of Section 18, Blocks V and VI, Waihou Survey District; thence south-westerly along that road to the north-western corner of Section 41, Block XII, Piako Survey District; thence again south-westerly along the road forming the southern boundary of Sections 2 and 1, Block XII, and Section 4, Block XI, Piako Survey District, to the north-eastern boundary of Section 5 (Forest Reserve) of the said Block XI, Piako Survey District; thence along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of said Section 5 to the summit of the range; thence by a right line to Otane Trig. Station, the place of commencement.

And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall come into operation on the first day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

Defining the Middle-line of a Road in Block VIII, Belmont Survey District—viz., Portion of the Western Hutt Road.

A PROCLAMATION

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of a road desired to be constructed over Block VIII, Belmont Survey District—viz., portion of the Western Hutt Road—shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the existing Western Hutt Road at the boundary between the Hutt County and the Lower Hutt Borough, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally for a distance of approximately 1 mile 28 chains and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c., viz., Sections 3 and 1, Melling Settlement (S.O. 134/30), being part Section 75, Hutt District; Lot 18, D.P. 1731 ; part Section 28, Hutt District on D.P. 5995 ; part Section 28, Hutt District (plan A/1929); Lot 4, D.P. 1492 ; Lots 36, 35, 18, 19, 20, 21, 7, 6, and 5, D.P. 1344 ; Lot 4, D.P. 1651 ; Lot 1, plan A/749 ; and Lot 1, D.P. 1344 , and terminating at a point on the southern boundary of the said Lot 1, D.P. 1344, near the junction of Railway Avenue and Parliament Street, Borough of Lower Hutt, including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses : all in the Wellington Land District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98810, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of May, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land declared to be Crown land : 1 acre 3 roods 31.3 perches. Being Subdivisions A, B, C, D, E, and F of Lot 37, and Subdivisions C and D of Lot 35 on D.P. 338, being part Section 17, Block VIII, Mangahao Survey District. Situated in the Borough of Pahiatua. (S.O. 20079.) In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98853, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of May, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the sixteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.
