A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the additional land described in
the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a
police-station; and I do also declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect on and after the ninth day of May, one
thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 rood.
Being Section 10, Block IX, Town of Levin.
Situated in (Block I, Waiopehu Survey District (Borough
of Levin). (S.O. 20077.)
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 98739,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 28th day of
April, 1938.

Crown Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease
to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Otago
Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon
me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement
Act, 1915, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Go-
vernor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared
open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers
under special tenures in the manner provided in the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CROWN LAND.
Section 34, Block IV, Glenkenich Survey District: Area,
10 acres 2 roods 24 perches.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 29th day of
April, 1938.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere
Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the
road in Shotover Survey District described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 4 acres
3 roods 29·1 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 130A and 1424P.
Situated in Block III, Shotover Survey District (Otago
R.D.) (S.O. 8 63.)
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particu-
larly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 93560,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 30th day of April,

Licensing James Andrews, Thomson Bruce, Joseph Foster, and
Thomas Isbister (as Trustees for the Fishermen in the
District) to use and occupy a Part of the Foreshore at
Paremata as a Site for the Cleaning and Painting of Fishing-
boats.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of
April, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the Harbours Act, 1923, His Excellency
the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby license and
permit James Andrews, Thomson Bruce, Joseph Foster, and
Thomas Isbister, all of Paremata, as trustees for the fishermen
in the district (hereinafter called “the trustees”), to use and
occupy all those parts of the foreshore at Paremata, as shown
on plan marked M.D. 5820, approved on the eighth day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and
deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington
for the purpose of the use of the site for the cleaning and
painting of fishing-boats, such license to be held and enjoyed
by the trustees upon and subject to the terms and conditions
set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

In these conditions the terms—
“Foreshore” means such parts of the bed, shore, or
banks of a tidal water as are covered and un-
covered by the flow and ebb of the tide at ordinary
spring tides;
“Low-water mark” means low-water mark at ordinary
spring tides;
“Minister” means the Minister of Marine as defined
by the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, and
includes any officer, person, or authority acting by
or under the direction of such Minister. -
The concessions and privileges conferred by this Order
in Council shall extend and apply only to that part of the
foreshore as shown on plan M.D. 5820. -
In consideration of the concessions and privileges granted
by this Order in Council the trustees shall, on being supplied
with a copy thereof, pay to the Minister an annual rental of
1s. payable on demand. -
The rights, powers, and privileges conferred by this
Order in Council shall continue in force for fourteen years from
the 8th day of April, 1938, unless in the meantime such rights,
powers, and privileges shall be altered, modified, or revoked
by competent authority; and the trustees shall not assign,
charge, or part with any such right, power, or privilege without
the previous written consent of the Minister first obtained. -
His Majesty or the Governor-General, and all officers
in the Government service acting in the execution of their
duty, shall at all times have free ingress, passage, and egress
into, through, and out of the said site without payment. -
Nothing herein contained shall authorize the trustees
to do or cause to be done anything repugnant to or incon-
sistent with any law relating to the Customs, or any regulation
of the Minister of Customs, or with any provisions of the
Harbours Act, 1923, or its amendments, or any regulations
made thereunder, and that are now or may hereafter be in
force. -
The trustees shall appoint all officers and servants
required for the working and management of the said site. -
The said rights, powers, and privileges may be at any
time resumed by the Governor-General without payment
of any compensation whatever, on giving to the trustees
