Defining Tauranga Extended River-limits for Vessels engaged in Deep-sea Sports Fishing only.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, Peter Fraser, Minister of Marine, do hereby amend the Tauranga Extended River and Partially Smooth Water Limits by adding the following proviso after the words “Mayor Island” :—

“Provided that vessels engaged in deep-sea sports fishing only may ply within three miles from the shore of Mayor Island.”

Defining the Brands or Marks to be used on Wrappers for Butter.

PURSUANT to the Butter Marketing Regulations, 1937, made under the Primary Products Marketing Act, 1936, the Minister of Marketing doth hereby define and prescribe the registered brand or mark of any manufacturer and/or wholesale distributor as the only brands or marks to be used on wrappers for butter for sale in New Zealand, and doth hereby further prescribe and determine that the wrapping of such butter in one pound pats or smaller portions shall be carried out only by a manufacturer or a wholesale distributor thereof.

Garden Place Loan Proposal.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Garden Place Special-rating Area of the Borough of Hamilton, taken on the 11th day of April, 1938, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £77,500 for the removal of the hill known as Garden Place and works incidental thereto, the number of votes recorded was—

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Castlepoint, taken on the 4th day of April, 1938, on the proposal of the Castlepoint County Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for the purpose of contributing towards the cost of erecting a bridge over the Whakataki River, re-aligning the road, and acquiring the land necessary for such purposes :—

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XII, Mangakahia Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Poroti and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
1 acre 2 roods 23·2 perches.
Being portion of Waitomotomo 3c 2 Block.

Situated in Block XII, Mangakahia Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 29063.)

Notifying Land in Southland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

PURSUANT to the provisions of subsection (2) of section 48 of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, notice is hereby given that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being the land known as Lora Settlement, was acquired by the Crown on the 28th day of November, 1935, and became subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as from that date.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—LORA SETTLEMENT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 4,080 acres 0 roods 34 perches, more or less, being Sections 451, 453, 457, 462, 467, and 468, Block XVI, and Sections 454, 455, 458A, 458B, 459, and 460, Block XVII, Forest Hill Hundred, and Sections 919, 920, and 923, Block LXII, Hokonui Survey District: As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked 21/317A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notice respecting proposed Abolition of Otaki River District, County of Horowhenua.

Wellington, 27th April, 1938.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General under the River Boards Act, 1908, and amendments, praying for the abolition of the Otaki River District, situated in the County of Horowhenua. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition of the district, which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
