Rangers under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, appointed.

IT is hereby notified that in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the under-mentioned persons have been appointed rangers under and for the purposes of that Act for the acclimatization districts mentioned :—

Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the New Zealand Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces :—
STAFF TO HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL.
Colonel E. Puttick, D.S.O., N.Z. Staff Corps, is appointed Honorary Aide-de-Camp to His Excellency the Governor-General, vice Colonel I. T. Standish, C.M.G., D.S.O., Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery. Dated 1st April, 1938.
STAFF AND COMMANDS.
Captain S. F. Allen, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Signals), and remains attached to Army Headquarters. Dated 14th February, 1938.
Captain G. H. Heal, N.Z. Staff Corps, having returned to New Zealand after undergoing courses of instruction in England, ceases to be seconded, dated 14th February, 1938, and is appointed General Staff Officer, 3rd Grade (Signals), Army Headquarters, dated 15th February, 1938.
Lieut.-Colonel T. L. Gibbs, V.D., Queen Alexandra’s (Wellington West Coast) Mounted Rifles, relinquishes command of the Regiment, and is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 11th October, 1937.
THE AUCKLAND (EAST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
Major G. Cawte, V.D., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), Area 2. Dated 30th March, 1938.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain B. H. Pringle is seconded to the 2nd Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment. Dated 29th March, 1938.
THE WELLINGTON EAST COAST MOUNTED RIFLES.
Captain S. M. Porter ceases to be seconded to the 2nd Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 5. Dated 4th April, 1938.
THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant H. H. North is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), Area 9. Dated 1st April, 1938.
THE AUCKLAND REGIMENT (COUNTESS OF RANFURLY’S OWN).
Philip Munro Barclay to be 2nd Lieutenant and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st January, 1937.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant M. D. Nairn, 2nd Cadet Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 16th April, 1936.
Richard Massey Harding to be 2nd Lieutenant and is seconded to the 1st Composite Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1937.
Arthur Lionel Litt to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 2nd Cadet Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1937.
THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant G. S. Evatt, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission on appointment to a commission in the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Dated 31st January, 1938.
THE HAWKE’S BAY REGIMENT.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) E. G. Hasell, 3rd Cadet Battalion, lapses. Dated 28th March, 1938.
N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend George Archibald Douglas Spence to be Chaplain, 4th Class (Presbyterian), Area 1. Dated 29th March, 1938.

Member appointed to the Christchurch Domain Board.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of section 4 of the Christchurch Domains Amendment Act, 1913, been pleased to appoint

to be a member of the Christchurch Domain Board in place of the Hon. David Buddo, deceased.
