Multi-axled Heavy Motor-vehicle approved under the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932.

I, ROBERT SEMPLE, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve as a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle under the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, any heavy motor-vehicle of the class or type described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

LEYLAND Motors, Ltd.'s four-axled motor-vehicle described "Octopus," models T.E.W. 11, T.E.W. 12, T.E.W. 14r, and T.E.W. 15t, when conforming with the respective one of the plans which are numbered 573, 572, 571, and 570, and are deposited in the offices of the Transport Department, Wellington.

Notification of exemption from Renter's Quota under the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928.

IT is hereby notified that in accordance with the authority contained in section 29 of the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928, exemption has been granted to each of the following named renters in respect of the film-renting seasons for the years 1937 and 1938, from the provision of the aforesaid Act which requires every licensed renter to acquire a stated proportion of British films:

Date of Election by Fire Insurance Companies to fill Extraordinary Vacancy on the Wellington Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and the rules thereunder, the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, doth hereby appoint Thursday, the 28th day of April, 1938, to be the date for holding the election of one member of the Wellington Fire Board by the Fire Insurance Companies concerned, such election being held to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. N. W. Nelson.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred upon me by section 23 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, the registration of the Otago and Southland Optical Employees' Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 1709, situated at Dunedin, will, unless cause to the contrary is shown, be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date hereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Canterbury Brick, Pottery, Pipe, Tile, and Clay Workers' Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 726, situated at Christchurch, and in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22 of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1925, it is my intention to cancel the registration of that industrial union after the expiration of six weeks from the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, unless in the meantime cause is shown to the contrary.

Rocks in Tamaki Strait : Additional Information.
Previous notice : No. 29 of 1937.
Position : Lat. 36° 48'·8 S.; long., 174° 59'·4 E. (approx.).
Details : These rocks have now been swept over and the rock situated 269° 3·8 cables from southern extremity of Park Point has been found to have a depth of 5 ft. instead of 10 ft. as reported in previous notice.

Position : Channel Island Light, Lat. 36° 25' S.; long., 175° 20' E. (approx.).
Details : A rocky shoal with at least depth of 8 fathoms 4 ft. exists in a position 178° 1·22 miles from the above-mentioned light.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—PORT NICHOLSON.
Buoy and Moorings established temporarily.
Position : Steeple Rock Beacon, Lat. 41° 19'·4 S.; long., 174° 50'·8 E. (approx.).
Details : A pile-driving machine will be working for some time at Steeple Rock Beacon during suitable weather with moorings lying 800 ft. north-eastward, south-eastward, and 1,100 ft. northward. A black buoy 348° 1,100 ft. from the beacon marks the northern mooring. Masters are requested to pass the pile-driver at reduced speed. Further notice will be given when the maintenance work has been completed.
