IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor-General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and Documents Act, 1919, appointed—
Robert Henario Roigard, of Greymouth,
to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Westland Acclimatization District.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, &c., of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force :—
REGULAR AIR FORCE.
Appointments.
Robert John Henry Seal is granted a commission in the Stores and Accounting Branch with the rank of Flying Officer (on probation) and is posted to the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base, Auckland. Dated 14th February, 1938.
Resignation.
Flying Officer K. G. Smith resigns his commission and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 1st March, 1938.
TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE.
The notice published in Gazette No. 12, dated 24th February, 1938, relative to the undermentioned officer is hereby cancelled and the following is substituted :—
John te Herekiekie Grace to be Flying Officer (on probation) and is posted to the Wellington Territorial Squadron. Dated 1st January, 1938.
Promotions.
Flying Officers L. F. P. Taylor and G. Carter, A.M.I.Ae.E., of the Wellington Territorial Squadron are promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Dated 1st January, 1938.

to be Officer in Charge of Kaipara Harbour for the purposes of the Harbours Act, 1923, and Superintendent of Mercantile Marine for the purposes of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, for the Harbour of Kaipara, as from the 23rd day of March, 1938.
James Hayes Finlay,
to be Assistant Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Hamilton for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and Deputy Registrar at Hamilton of the Supreme Court of New Zealand for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908, as from the 16th day of March, 1938.

to be Deputy Sheriff for the District of Auckland; Deputy Registrar at Auckland of the Supreme Court of New Zealand for the purposes of the Judicature Act, 1908; and Local Patent Officer at Auckland for the purposes of section 15 of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22; as from the 11th day of March, 1938.
