Officers authorized to take and receive Statutory Declarations
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Notice of Intention to issue an Order in Council changing the Purpose of Reserves in Borough of Timaru, Canterbury Land District.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by subsection one (a) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, change the purpose of any public reserve or any part thereof, and thereafter such reserve or part, as the case may be, shall be held and administered for such changed purpose:
And whereas the land described in the First Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a public park, and whereas the land described in the Second Schedule hereto is part of a reserve duly set apart for the purposes of public recreation and enjoyment for the inhabitants of the Borough of Timaru, and it is expedient to change the purposes of the reservations over the said lands to a reserve for a hospital-site.
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby give notice, pursuant to subsection two of section seven of the said Act, that is my intention to issue an Order in Council under the provisions of subsection one (a) of section seven of the said Act, declaring that the said reservations over the lands described in the Schedules hereto shall be changed to a reserve for a hospital-site.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 0·6 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve Number 344, situated in the Borough of Timaru, and bounded as follows: Towards the north by Queen Street, 637·79 links; towards the east by High Street, 146·00 links and 557·47 links; towards the south and west by other parts of Reserve Number 344, 664·30 links and 696·60 links respectively. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and. S. 6/8/7A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8·3 perches, more or less, being part of Reserve Number 344, situated in the Borough of Timaru, and being identical with Lot 2, D.P. 10972, Canterbury Land Registry: Bounded towards the north by Queen Street, 31·76 links; towards the east and south by other part of Reserve Number 344, 696·60 links and 43·63 links respectively; and again towards the west by other part of Reserve Number 344, 594·75 links and 101·85 links. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/8/7B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered yellow.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 22nd day of March, 1938.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Ship Cove Reserve Board.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection three of section ten of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1935, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule below for the period of five years from the date hereof in the undermentioned persons, namely:—
The Commissioner of Crown Lands for the Marlborough Land District, ex officio,
His Worship the Mayor of Picton, ex officio,
Henry Joseph Stace,
Norman Gifford Parker, and
Alfred Andrew Perano,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Ship Cove Reserve Board (herein referred to as “the Board”) in trust, as a reserve in memory of its occupation by Captain Cook, with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the third Tuesday in the months of March, June, September, and December in each year, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., at the Council Chambers, Picton, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

The Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be the chairman of the Board. He may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.

Special meetings may be convened by the chairman provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any three members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

If at any meeting the chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor-General shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

The Board may make such rules as it deems necessary,—
(1) Governing trading within the reserve; and
(2) Controlling or limiting the taking of collections within the reserve for any objects other than the improvement of the reserve. -
The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

The Board shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
