NOTICE is hereby given that on the eighteenth day of February, 1938, the members of the above-named company passed the following special resolution:—
“That the company, having disposed of its undertaking and having ceased to carry on business be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. GEORGE WILLIAM JACK BELL, of Dunedin, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed liquidator of the company.”

TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of principal, interest, and other charges on the Taumarunui Borough Council Racecourse Purchase Loan of £2,300, 1937, authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing the racecourse property at Manunui, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five twenty-fourths of a penny (5/24ths of 1d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Taumarunui and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

CHANGE OF NAME.
I, RAYMOND HERBERT ARCHER, of Tuna Bay, Farmer, hereby give public notice that I have renounced and abandoned the surname of Osborne and henceforth on all occasions intend to sign and use and to be known and called by the surname of Archer (in place of my present name of Osborne): And, further, that such intended change of name is formally declared and evidenced by a deed-poll under my hand and seal bearing date the 31st day of January, 1938, and intended forthwith to be enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Nelson.

CHANGE OF NAME.
I, TOM HOLT, of Gisborne, Fibrous-plaster Manufacturer, now lately called Tom Imeson, hereby give notice that on the 23rd day of February, 1938, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of Imeson, and then assumed and adopted and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Holt instead of the said name of Imeson: And I give further notice that by a deed-poll dated the 23rd day of February, 1938, duly executed and filed in the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Gisborne on the 24th day of February, 1938, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of Imeson and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of Holt instead of Imeson and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of Holt exclusively.

THE EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF SOUTHLAND.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Education Act, 1914, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Southland proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the establishment of a public school—and for the purposes of such work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken:
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the said Education Board situated in Tay Street, Invercargill, and is open for inspection by all persons (without fee) during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Education Board at its office in Tay Street, Invercargill, aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
All that piece of land situated in the Campbelltown Hundred containing 1 rood, more or less, being Lot 11, Block VIII, on Plan No. 225, deposited in the Lands Registry Office at Invercargill, part of Section 7, Block I, on the map of the said Hundred, and all the land comprised and described in certificate of title, Register-book Volume 60, folio 1, the registered proprietor of which land is Hannah Stewart, wife of James Stewart, of Invercargill, Carrier.
