Special Order made by the Ohinemuri County Council altering Riding Boundaries and adjusting Representation.

Wellington, 25th February, 1938.
THE following special order made by the Ohinemuri County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, in so far as publication is required by that Act. Pursuant to section 100 of the aforesaid Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921-22, I hereby fix the 20th day of April, 1938, as the date from which the re-division of the County into six ridings as set out in the said special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Ohinemuri County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows:—

The present division of the County of Ohinemuri into seven ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into six ridings, to be called respectively Komata Riding, Paeroa Riding, Mangaiti Riding, Townships Riding, Waihi West Riding, and Waihi Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

The said Ohinemuri County Council shall consist of nine members who shall be elected as follows:—
(a) The electors of the Komata Riding, Paeroa Riding, and Waihi Riding shall each elect two councillors.
(b) The electors of the Mangaiti Riding, Townships Riding, and Waihi West Riding shall each elect one councillor.
- The alteration hereby made shall take effect at the next general election of the Council—viz., the 11th day of May, 1938.
SCHEDULE.
KOMATA RIDING.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri County, situated in Blocks IV, VII, VIII, XI, XII, Waihou Survey District, and Blocks II, III, V, VI, VII, IX, and X, Ohinemuri Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the confluence of the Waihou and Hikutaiia Rivers; thence in an easterly direction up the middle of the Hikutaiia River and following the Thames County boundary as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1937, page 235, to a point on a dividing range near Trig. Ngapuketurua (89); thence in a south-westerly direction generally along this dividing ridge, through Trig. Ngapuketurua (89) to the northernmost corner of Section 6, Block VI, Ohinemuri Survey District; thence along the western boundary of State Forest, Gazette, 1935, page 2736, the northern, western, and again the northern boundaries of Section 3, Block VI, Ohinemuri Survey District, to Maratoto Road; thence by a right line across this road and along the western and south-western sides of this road to and along the Waitakaruru Stream, the northern and western boundaries of Section 15, Block X, Ohinemuri Survey District, the northern and western boundaries of Section 19, Block X aforesaid, to a point in the north-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block X, Ohinemuri Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along the northern and north-western boundaries of Section 13, Block X aforesaid, to a public road; thence along the north-western side of this road to the Komata River; thence to and along the middle of this river to its confluence with the Waihou River; thence in a northerly direction generally along the middle of the Waihou River to its confluence with the Hikutaiia River, the point of commencement.
PAEROA RIDING.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri County, situated in Blocks XII, XVI, Waihou Survey District, IX, X, XIII, XIV, Ohinemuri Survey District, IV, VIII, Waihoa Survey District, and Block I, Aroha Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point in the middle of the Waihou River, at its confluence with the Komata River; thence in an easterly direction generally along the southern boundary of Komata Riding previously described to the western boundary of Section 19, Block X, Ohinemuri Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the south-western boundary of Section 19 aforesaid, the generally western boundary of State forest, 760 acres, Gazette, 1935, page 2736, the generally north-western boundary of Section 17 of Block X aforesaid, the northern and western boundaries of provisional State forest, 742 acres, Gazette, 1920, page 924, the north-western boundary of Karangahake Watershed Reserve, the western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Ohinemuri Survey District, and again the western boundary of Paeroa-Waihi Watershed Reserve to the northern boundary of Section 40, Block XIV, Ohinemuri Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along the northern boundary of Section 40 aforesaid, the northern boundaries of Lot 2 of Section 36 and part Section 36 of Block XIII, Ohinemuri Survey District, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Section 21 and the north-eastern boundary of Section 65 of Block XIII aforesaid, to and along the north-eastern side of a public road to its intersection with the Paeroa-Waihi Road; thence by a line due west to the western bank of the Ohinemuri River; thence in a southerly direction generally along the western side of Ohinemuri River to the southernmost corner of To Rewarewa No. 2 Block; thence along the southern boundary of that block and its production to the western side of Paeroa-Waihi Railway; thence along the western side of this railway, the northern and western boundaries of Rarau No. 2 Block (Rarau Township) to Ramarama Trig. Station in Block I, Aroha Survey District; thence along the generally western boundary of provisional State forest, Gazette, 1920, page 925, to the north-eastern corner of Section 23, Block V, Aroha Survey District; thence in a westerly direction generally along the northern and western boundaries of Section 23 aforesaid, the Waitoki Stream, the eastern boundary of Pukemokemoke 2b 2 Block, the north-eastern boundary of Pukemokemoke 1b 2b Block, to and across a public road, and along its north-western side to the north-eastern corner of Lot 2 on D.P. 576, being a subdivision of Te Paeroa Block; thence along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid, the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 3 on D.P. 576 aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the southern side of Waitoki Road; thence along the southern side of Waitoki Road to the north-western corner of part Lot 12 on D.P. 576 aforesaid; thence along the western boundary of part Lot 12 aforesaid to the middle of the Waitoki Stream; thence along the middle of this stream to the north-eastern boundary of Te Paeroa 1b Block; thence along the north-eastern boundary of Te Paeroa 1b Block aforesaid to the northern boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 13241, being a subdivision of Waitoki Block, and along that boundary and its production to the middle of the Waitoki Stream; thence along the middle of Waitoki Stream to its confluence with the Waihou River; thence along the middle of the Waihou River to its confluence with the Komata River, the point of commencement: save and excepting the Borough of Paeroa as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1925, page 570.
MANGAITI RIDING.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri County, situated in Blocks IV and VIII, Waitoa Survey District, and I, V, VI, IX, and X, Aroha Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the confluence of the Waihou River and Waitoki Stream; thence in north-easterly and easterly directions generally along the southern boundary of Paeroa Riding previously described to the south-eastern corner of Section 17, Block I, Aroha Survey District; thence again in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of Block II, Aroha Survey District, to the middle of the Mangakino Stream; thence in a southerly direction generally along the middle of the Mangakino Stream to its intersection with the southern boundary of Ohinemuri County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1937, page 1199; and thence in a general westerly and northerly direction along the boundary of Ohinemuri County to the confluence of the Waihou River and Waitoki Stream, the point of commencement.
TOWNSHIPS RIDING.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, Ohinemuri County, situated in Blocks XIII and XIV, Ohinemuri Survey District, and Block I, Aroha Survey District, bounded as
