Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioners have made the following appointments in the Public Service :
Arthur Chitty Russell Anderson,
to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the Hawke’s Bay Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 8th day of February, 1938.
George Richardson Onslow Mulholland,
to be Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of Franklin for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927, and its amendments, as from the 4th day of February, 1938.

Classification of Roads in Southland County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve of the Southland County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Southland County.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND COUNTY.
ROADS Classified in Class Four : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 5 tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, when carrying a load has an axle weight of not more than 3 tons on any one axle :—
Hodgson Road.
Lawson Road.

Approval of Testing Officers under the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931.
IN terms of regulation 5 of the Motor-drivers’ Regulations, 1931, the Minister of Transport does hereby approve, until further notice, of the persons named in Column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being Testing Officers under the said regulations for the authority specified in Column 1 of the said Schedule.

Multi-axled Heavy Motor-vehicle approved under the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932.
I, ROBERT SEMPLE, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve as a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle under the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, any heavy motor-vehicle of the class or type described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
SPECIAL Articulated Truck, Diamond T, when conforming with the respective one of the plans which are numbered 549 and 550 and are deposited in the offices of the Transport Department, Wellington.
Abingdon Tandem Axled Semi Trailer associated with tractive unit when both units conform with the respective one of the plans which are numbered 551 and 552 and are deposited in the offices of the Transport Department, Wellington.

Special Order made by the Waimea County Council declaring that Sections 121 and 131, Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to that Council.

THE following special order made by the Waimea County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 2 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1931, the Waimea County Council resolves by way of special order as follows :
“That sections 121 and 131 of the Counties Act, 1920, shall not apply to the Waimea County.”
