Revoking the Notice prescribing the Amount of Special Orchard-tax payable in the Rangiora Commercial Fruit-growing District.—(Notice No. Ag. 3533.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon the Minister of Agriculture by subsection (3) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927, I, Frederick Jones, acting for the Minister of Agriculture, do hereby revoke the notice prescribing the amount of special orchard-tax payable by the occupier of every orchard within the Rangiora Commercial Fruit-growing District for every acre or part of an acre comprised in such orchard and planted with apple-trees, pear-trees, or quince-trees, given under the hand of the Minister of Agriculture on the 13th day of January, 1937, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of the same month at page 243, and do hereby declare that such revocation shall take effect on the date of publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Notice as to the making of By-laws under the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933.—(Notice No. Ag. 3534.)

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933, as amended by section 4 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, of the making by the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association, on the 24th day of February, 1937, and of the approval by the Governor-General on the 10th day of February, 1938, of by-laws under the above-entitled Act controlling the admission of persons to any place used or occupied by the said association for any meeting, show, exhibition, competition, or entertainment held by the said association, which said by-laws came into force on the last-mentioned date. The by-laws made by the Feilding Industrial Agricultural and Pastoral Association on the 25th day of October, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of November, 1935, at page 3383, are substantially the same as the by-laws made by the first-mentioned association.

Aviation Light.

Position : 326° 6·5 miles from Godley Head Lighthouse in lat. 43° 36′ S. ; long. 172° 48′·6 E. (approx.).

Details : A fixed light of greenish tinge, 1,500 candle-power, has been established at 3ZB on a wireless mast at an elevation of 170 ft. The light will be exhibited from dusk to dawn.

Orakei Wharf: Alteration in Light.

Position : Okahu Point, lat., 36° 50′·6 S. ; long., 174° 49′ E (approx.).

Abridged description : Fl. R. ev. 6 sec. 18 ft. 6 M (U).

Alterations : The period of the light will be altered on the 2nd March to 6 seconds with flash of 2 seconds.

Notice to Mariners No. 6 of 1938.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—WEST COAST.

Manukau Bar: Channel changing.

Position : Lat., 37° 03′ S. ; long., 174° 31′ E. (approx.).

Details : A new channel appears to be forming from one-third to one-half of a mile northward of the leading line (074°) of the existing main channel beacons. Masters are advised to exercise care when working the bar and to follow any semaphore directions given by the signalman. Further notice will be given after examination.

Breakwater Harbour : Buoys.

(1) Position : 321° 1,100 ft. from end of Glasgow Wharf. Lat., 39° 28′ S. ; long., 176° 55′ E. (approx.).

Details : The black cask buoy in the above approximate position has been permanently discontinued.

(2) Position : In area being dredged.

Details : A white cask buoy for use in dredging operations has been temporarily established to mark a patch of 11 ft. L.W. about 550 ft. southward of the line of beacons.
