EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF WELLINGTON.

Under the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Wellington requires to take the land with improvements described hereunder:—
In Wellington.—Part Section thirty-six (36), Karori District, Block six (VI), Port Nicholson Survey District, containing seven acres three roods four perches and four-tenths of a perch (7 acres 3 roods 4·4 perches), situated in Donald and Campbell Streets, Karori.
The land is required for the purposes of a public work—namely, a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914.
Notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of Messrs. Brandon, Ward, Hislop, and Powles, Solicitors, Brandon House, Featherston Street, Wellington.
All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the said Board, the offices of which are situated in Mercer Street, in the City of Wellington.

EDUCATION BOARD OF THE DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

Notice under the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following land, namely,—
All that piece of land, situated in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing eleven acres three roods twenty-three perches (11 acres 3 roods 23 perches), more or less, being Lot 63 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Auckland under 177 which said piece of land is part of Allotment 7 of the Parish of Titirangi, and is all the land in certificate of title, Vol. 48, folio 83, of the register-books of the Land Registry Office aforesaid.
A plan of the land is deposited at the post-office at Avondale and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland at its office in Wellesley Street, Auckland.

BOROUGH OF GORE.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Footpaths Supplementary Loan, 1937.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Gore Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the Gore Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for kerbing, channelling, and constructing footpaths, the said Gore Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Gore, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of August and the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of eighteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at an ordinary meeting of the Gore Borough Council on Monday, the 6th day of December, 1937.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, section 23 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1935, section 30 of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal Act, 1936, and of all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling it, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges in respect of the sum of thirty-nine thousand pounds (£39,000), authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of establishing on the old railway-station site at Auckland a transport terminus and equipping the said terminus, the said Auckland City Council doth hereby make and levy a special rate of seven-twentieths (7/20ths) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of annual value) of all rateable property comprising the whole of the City of Auckland, and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the whole of the said loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Auckland City Council at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 20th day of December, 1937.
