NOTICE is hereby given that the matters mentioned in the Schedule hereunder written will be heard by the Native Land Court sitting at Gisborne on the 18th January, 1938, or as soon thereafter as the business of the Court will allow.

Land and Income Tax (Annual) Act, 1937.

INCOME-TAX PAYABLE.

BY Order in Council, made and issued by His Excellency the Governor-General in Council on the 20th day of October, 1937, under the authority of the above Act, it was determined that the duty by way of income-tax leviable under section 3 of the said Act, should be paid in one sum on Tuesday, the 8th day of February, 1938, at the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government Buildings, Wellington, C. 1. ; and, in accordance with such Order in Council, I hereby give notice that the said duty will be payable accordingly. Additional tax will accrue if the tax is not paid on or before 1st March, 1938. The liability to pay is not suspended by any objection. The tax should be paid on or before the prescribed date, otherwise the additional percentage accrues ; any overpayment will be adjusted by refund.

The demands will be posted from the office of the Commissioner of Taxes on or about 1st February, 1938. Demands must be presented with all payments, and taxpayers who expect a demand and do not receive one should notify me of the fact.

Including Additional Land in the Waiapu-Matakaoa Development Scheme.

PURSUANT to section 4 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1936, the Board of Native Affairs hereby declares the Native land described in the Schedule hereto to be subject to Part I of the said Act and to be included in the Waiapu-Matakaoa Development Scheme.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of Native land containing 272 acres 0 roods 21 perches, more or less, in the Tairawhiti Native Land Court District, situated in Block XVI, Matakaoa Survey District, and known as Pariwhero A Block, being the balance of the land in Certificate of Title, Volume 49, folio 98, Gisborne Registry.

Dated at Wellington, this 24th day of December, 1937.
