District of Auckland pursuant to the provisions of section 4

Appointment in the Public Service.

ing appointment in the Public Service :—

Carl August Berendsen, Esquire,
to be Secretary for the Cook Islands for the purposes of the
Cook Islands Act, 1915, as from the 1st day of January, 1938.

Appointment of Customs Aerodrome.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 29th December, 1937.

WALTER NASH, Minister of Customs, in exercise of
the powers vested in me for this purpose by clause 3
of the Customs (Aircraft) Regulations, 1935, do by this
Warrant appoint as a Customs aerodrome that area of water
known as the Waitemata Harbour and defined in the New
Zealand Gazette No. 38 of 21st May, 1925, at page 1555, as all
that area of tidal waters within a straight line drawn from
the northern extreme of the eastern head of Tamaki River
to the southern extreme of Park Point, Waiheke Island ;
thence by high-water mark of ordinary spring tides to the
northern extreme of the western entrance point to Owhanaki
Bay ; thence by a straight line to the southern extreme of
Home Bay Point, Tapu (Motutapu) Island ; thence by high-
water mark of ordinary spring tides to Emu Point, and
onwards, following the eastern shore of Islington Bay inwards
to its head at its narrowest width and its western shore
outwards to Motukoreho Channel, continuing along the
southern and western shore of Rangitoto Island to a position
where a straight line projecting 270 degrees passes through
Rangitoto Beacon to the mainland ; and do likewise appoint
the aircraft-mooring area situated adjacent to the eastern
tide deflector in Mechanics Bay within the confines of the
said harbour to be the examination station at the said
aerodrome.

Appointment of Wharf at Auckland.

Wellington, 29th December, 1937.

WALTER NASH, Minister of Customs, in exercise of
the powers vested in me for this purpose by section 19
of the Customs Act, 1913, do by this Warrant appoint the
jetty and landing stage at the aircraft-mooring area adjacent
to the eastern tide deflector in Mechanics Bay within the
Port of Auckland to be a wharf for the lading and unloading
of goods.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman,
Raglan County Council, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Roads, Bridges, and Drainage Loan, 1937—£50,000.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Karamu, Karioi, Matakowhai, Onewhero, Pirongia,
Port Waikato, Pukekawa, Pukemiro, Te Akau, Waingaro,
and Whangape Ridings of the County of Raglan taken on the
8th December, 1937, on the proposal of the Raglan County
Council to borrow the sum of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000)
for the purpose of improving main highways and other roads
in the Raglan County, including construction, reconstruction,
formation, metalling, and surfacing same, the erection of
bridges, and provision of culverts thereon, the taking and
purchase of land for any necessary deviations ; also drainage
works in the Whangape Stream and Whangape Lake, together
with any legal or survey fees:—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 684
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 126
The number of informal votes was .. 6

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Nightcaps Town Board, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

NIGHTCAPS TOWN BOARD.

Pursuant to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of
the Nightcaps Town District taken on the 15th day of
December, 1937, on the proposal of the Nightcaps Town
Board to borrow the sum of £800 for the purpose of providing
the Town Board's share of the cost of constructing a concrete
bridge over the Wairio Stream, and sealing main highways
through Nightcaps:—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 60
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 9

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Nightcaps Town District taken on the 15th day of December,
1937, on the proposal of the Nightcaps Town Board to borrow
the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of carrying out extensions
and improvements to the Coronation Hall at Nightcaps:—

The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 13

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
