ASHBURTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and of the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Ashburton County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, to acquire certain land for the purposes of a new road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the shop of Edward Ernest Burgess, Storekeeper, situated at Staveley, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during the hours of from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on week-days. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the said Council, at the office of the said Council.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of the parcel of land required to be taken: 1 rood 22·7 perches, being part of Rural Section 14661 and being part of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 36, folio 112, and Vol. 36, folio 113.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
I, WALTER IRVING CAWKWELL, M.B., Ch.B., University of New Zealand, 1937, now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 13th January next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Auckland.

I, WILLIAM RICHARD McKECHNIE, B.M., B.S., 1937, now residing in Balclutha, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 11th January next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Dunedin.

GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
THAT for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of £3,500 authorized to be raised by it under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of a Town Hall in the Glen Eden Town District, the said Glen Eden Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7/10ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the Glen Eden Town District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 15 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution passed by the Glen Eden Town Board on the 9th day of November, 1936.

GLEN EDEN TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 (Section 19, subsection 2), the Glen Eden Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £350 being 10 per centum of the original sum of £3,500 authorized to be raised by the Glen Eden Town Board under the above Act for the erection of a Town Hall, the said Glen Eden Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven one-hundredths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Glen Eden Town District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, for the period of ten years, or until such loan is fully paid off.”
I hereby certify the above to be a true copy of a resolution passed by the Glen Eden Town Board on the 10th day of December, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that—
- The following resolution to wind the company up voluntarily was passed at a special meeting of shareholders held on the 30th day of November, 1937:—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that MESSRS. E. MACDONALD, A. H. M. WRIGHT, W. GRANT, and G. R. CLARK, be appointed and are hereby appointed liquidators.”
- All persons or companies having claims against the company are required to send full particulars to me on or before the 31st day of January, 1938, otherwise they may be excluded from participating in the distribution of assets.
