AMURI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

In the matter of the Amuri County Council and in the matter of THE DOCTOR’S HOUSE LOAN (1937), £1,910.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Council of the County of Amuri hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of nineteen hundred and ten pounds authorized to be raised by the Amuri County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a residence for the County Doctor, the said Amuri County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven six hundred and twenty-fifths of a penny in the pound (7/625ths of a penny in the pound) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Amuri County, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Dated the 3rd day of September, 1937.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Amuri was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Amuri County Council in the presence of—

We hereby certify that the above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Amuri County Council held at the Amuri County Council Chambers on the 6th day of August, 1937, and confirmed at a meeting duly advertised and held at the Amuri County Council Chambers on the 3rd day of September, 1937.

In the matter of the Amuri County Council and in the matter of THE WAIAU PUBLIC HALLS LOAN (1937), £2,800.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Council of the County of Amuri hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand eight hundred pounds authorized to be raised by the Amuri County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing land for the erection of additions to buildings known as the Library Hall, Waiau, and for the purpose of taking over the building known as the Waiau Public Hall, the said Amuri County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight one hundred and twenty-fifths of a penny in the pound (8/125ths of a penny in the pound) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waiau and Lyndon Ridings of the Amuri County, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, WILLIAM MELVILLE WILL BROOKFIELD, M.B., Ch.B., 1937, now residing in Dunedin, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 7th January next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Devonport Borough Council proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and its amendments, to execute a public work—namely, the construction of a public road through parts Allotments 29 and 30, Section 2, Parish of Takapuna, and for the purpose of such public work the land first, secondly, and fifthly described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, and the land thirdly and fourthly described in the said Schedule is required to be taken or set apart: And notice is hereby given that the plan of the said land required to be taken and of the said land required to be taken or set apart is deposited for public inspection (without fee) at the office of the Devonport Borough Council, Council Chambers, Marine Square, Devonport: And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of such public work or by the taking of the said land first, secondly, and fifthly described in the Schedule hereto or by the taking or setting apart of the said land thirdly and fourthly described in the said Schedule shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land first, secondly, and fifthly so described or the taking or setting apart of the said land thirdly and fourthly so described, set forth the same in writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Devonport Borough Council at the said Council Chambers, Devonport.

SCHEDULE.

First: 9·85 perches, being portion Allotment 30, situate in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, and shown coloured purple on the said plan.

Secondly: 6·3 perches, being portion Allotment 30, situate in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, and shown coloured yellow on the said plan.

Thirdly: 25·2 perches, being portion Allotment 30, situate in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, and shown coloured blue on the said plan.

Fourthly: 12·36 perches, being portion Allotment 29, situate in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, and shown coloured yellow on the said plan.

Fifthly: 5·47 perches, being portion Allotment 29, situate in Block VI, Rangitoto Survey District, Borough of Devonport, and shown coloured purple on the said plan.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of creditors of the Tauranga Tobacco and Citrus Company, Limited, will be held at the Chamber of Commerce Rooms, Swanson Street, Auckland, on Thursday, 16th December, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.

Business—To consider and if thought fit pass the following extraordinary resolution :—

“ That it is proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up same and that accordingly this company be wound up voluntarily, and that R. W. Lock, Public Accountant, Auckland, be and he is hereby appointed as liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”
