CHARLES SAMUEL HAWKESWOOD.
In the matter of the Administration Act, 1908, and its amendments, and in the matter of the Estate of CHARLES SAMUEL HAWKESWOOD, late of Auckland, but now deceased.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, on the 25th day of November, 1937, pursuant to the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 62 of the above-mentioned Act, filed a certificate in the Supreme Court at Wellington electing to administer the above estate under Part IV of the said Act, and that the said estate will, as from the said date, be administered, realized, and distributed in accordance with the law and practice of bankruptcy.
Notice is further given that I do hereby summon a meeting of creditors of the above estate to be held at the Public Trust Office, 147 Albert Street, Auckland, on Thursday, the 9th day of December, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon.
Notice is finally given that all creditors, whether they have already submitted their claims or not, are required to prove their debts within the time and in the manner provided by the Bankruptcy Act, 1908. Proof-of-debt forms may be procured at my office.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
The Wellington City Mercer Street Land Purchase Loan, 1938.
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 25th day of November, 1937 :—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and its amendments, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities it in this behalf enabling, the Wellington City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of fifty-one thousand pounds (£51,000) to be known as the Wellington City Mercer Street Land Purchase Loan, 1938, authorized to be raised by the Wellington City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing the land described in subsection (6) of section 67 of the Local Legislation Act, 1928, from the Wellington Education Board, the said Wellington City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of sixty-five sixteen-hundredths of a penny (65/1600d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years from the 1st day of February, 1938, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Under the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Hutt require to take the land described hereunder :—
In Wellington Land District.—Part Lot 1, Deposited Plan 1879, and being part Section Nine (9), Block two (II), Paekakariki Survey District, situate at the corner of Beach Road and the Parade, Township of Paekakariki, and containing 2·28 perches.
This land is required for the purposes of a public work—namely, a public road. Notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of Messrs. Brandon, Ward, Hislop, and Powles, Solicitors, Brandon House, Featherston Street, Wellington.
All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, whose office is situated in Bowen House, Bowen Street, in the City of Wellington.
