Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 7th December, 1937.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Huntly Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

HUNTLY BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Huntly, taken on the 29th day of November, 1937, on the proposal of the Huntly Borough Council to borrow the sum of £14,500 for the purpose of providing a water-supply for the Borough of Huntly.
Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 169
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 95
Informal votes .. .. .. .. 5
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Classification of Roads in Oxford County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Oxford County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Oxford County.
SCHEDULE.
OXFORD COUNTY.
ROADS classified in Class Three: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 10 tons :—
Rangiora–Oxford via Loburn Main Highway No. 111 (all that portion within Oxford County).
Kaiapoi–Waddington via Rangiora Main Highway No. 112 (all that portion within Oxford County).
West Oxford–Cooper’s Creek Main Highway No. 199.
Ashley Gorge Main Highway No. 203 (all that portion within Oxford County).
Harewood Main Highway No. 632.

Declaring Areas to be Closely Populated Localities for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby declare the areas described in the Schedule hereto to be closely populated localities for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein, shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Hawera County—
All that area adjoining and comprising the Auckland–Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway No. 1, from its junction with Victoria Street to its junction with the Waihi Highway (Hawera); also all that area adjoining and comprising the Auckland–Wellington via Taranaki Main Highway No. 1, from its junction with Collins Street to its junction with Gladstone Street.
All that area adjoining and comprising the Lepperton Junction–Hawera via Opunake Main Highway No. 36, from its junction with Waihi Highway (Hawera) to its junction with Collins Street.
All that area adjoining and comprising the Waihi Highway (Hawera) No. 545, from its junction with the Lepperton Junction–Hawera via Opunake Main Highway to its junction with High Street.

All that area at Culverden adjoining and comprising the Waipara–Kaikoura via Culverden Main Highway No. 107, from School Creek Bridge to Domain Creek Culvert, a distance of approximately 30 chains.
All that area at Hanmer adjoining and comprising the Red Post Junction–Jollies Pass Main Highway No. 108, from its junction with Leamington Street to its junction with Scarborough Terrace.
All that area at Hanmer adjoining and comprising Jack’s Pass Road from its junction with the Red Post Junction–Jollies Pass Main Highway to a point 10 chains measured along the road in a westerly direction from the said junction.
Situated within Marlborough County—
All that area adjoining and comprising the Blenheim–Nelson Main Highway No. 102, from its junction with Murphy’s Cross Road to the western boundary of Blenheim Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 46 chains.
Situated within Waimea County—
All that area at Wakefield adjoining and comprising the roads and streets hereinafter described :—
(1) Nelson–Inangahua Junction Main Highway No. 102, commencing at a point 10 chains measured along the said highway in a southerly direction from its junction with Pitfure Street and terminating at a point 5 chains measured along the road in a southerly direction from the southern boundary of the Wakefield Domain.
(2) Wakefield–Woodstock Main Highway No. 252, from its junction with the Nelson–Inangahua Junction Main Highway to the Wai-iti River Bridge, a distance of approximately 5 chains.
(3) Arrow Street.
(4) Church Valley Road from its junction with Arrow Street to its junction with the Nelson–Inangahua Junction Main Highway.
All that area at Brightwater adjoining and comprising the Nelson–Inangahua Junction Main Highway No. 102, commencing at a point 5 chains measured along the said highway in a north-easterly direction from its junction with the Wairoa Gorge Road and terminating at a point 5 chains measured along the said highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with Waimea West Road, a distance of approximately 50 chains.

Classification of Roads in Clifton County.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, the Minister of Transport does hereby alter the Clifton County Council’s proposed classification of the roads described in the Schedule hereto and situated in the Clifton County, and does hereby approve such altered classification as set forth in the said Schedule.

CLIFTON COUNTY.
ROADS Classified in Class Four: Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6½ tons :—
Beach Road, Bertrand Road, Clifton Road, Epiha Road, Faull Road, Hickman Road, Kaka Road, Kakapo Road, Mangahewa Road, Mangahia Road, Mangaonga Road, Mangatoro Road, Matapo Road, Mohakatino Road, Moki Road, Ngatoto Road, Okau Road, Puke Road, Putts Road, Snell Road, Tupoki Road, Urenui Domain Road, Waiau Road, Waihi Road, Wai-iti Road, Waipapa Road, Waitoitoi Road.
