and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and it is deemed expedient to give effect to the prayer of the petition accordingly:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby constitute by the specific name of the “Leaning Rock Rabbit District,” and declare that area of land defined in the Schedule hereto to be a rabbit district under and for the purposes of Part II of the said Act, and doth hereby further declare that the basis on which the Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be on the basis of the acreage of the rateable property in the said district.

SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE LEANING ROCK RABBIT DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 127,400 acres, more or less, commencing at a point on the eastern bank of the Clutha River in prolongation of the northern boundary of Run 238n, Wakefield Survey District, and proceeding thence in an easterly direction by a right line across a public road to the north-western corner of Run 238p aforesaid; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundaries of Run 238p and Run 221p in the aforesaid district to a public road; thence in an easterly direction by a right line across the said road to the eastern side thereof; thence in a north-easterly direction along the eastern side of the said road forming the north-western boundaries of Run 221r, Leaning Rock Survey District, and Runs 589 and 590, Wakefield Survey District, to the northern corner of Run 590 aforesaid; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundary of Run 238x in Wakefield Survey District to a public road; thence in an easterly direction along the south side of the last-mentioned public road, forming the northern boundary of Run 238x aforesaid, to the eastern boundary of Wakefield Survey District; thence by a right line in a northerly direction across the said road to the northern side thereof; thence in a north-easterly direction along the north-western boundary of the said Run 238x in Lauder Survey District, and along the north-western boundaries of part Run 223x, Run 223L, and Run 223m, Lauder Survey District, to the northern corner of Run 223m aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of the said Run 223m to the eastern boundary thereof; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said Run 223m to a public road; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of the last-mentioned road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Run 223m aforesaid, and of Sections 33, 36, 38, 34, and 35, Block VI, Lauder Survey District, and of Run 223L aforesaid to the south corner thereof; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of the last-mentioned road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 43, Block VI, Lauder Survey District, to the south corner thereof; thence in a north-westerly direction along the eastern side of a public road forming the south-western boundary of Section 43 aforesaid to the north-western corner thereof; thence in a south-westerly direction across the last-mentioned road to the south-western side thereof by a line in prolongation of the north-western boundary of Section 43 aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western side of the last-mentioned road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 40, Block VI, Lauder Survey District, to the eastern corner thereof; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of a public road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 40 and 41, Block VI, Lauder Survey District, to the south corner of Section 41 aforesaid; thence generally in a westerly direction along the northern and eastern side of the last-mentioned public road forming the southern and western boundaries of Sections 76, 92, and 94, Block VII, Lauder Survey District, to a point on the western boundary of Section 94 aforesaid in prolongation of the northern side of a public road intersecting Section 96, Block VII, Lauder Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction across a public road by a line in prolongation of the northern side of a public road intersecting Section 96 aforesaid, and along the northern side of the last-mentioned road to the western boundary of Section 96 aforesaid; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern side of a public road forming the south-western boundary of Section 96 aforesaid to the north-western corner thereof; thence in a north-westerly direction across a public road to the south-eastern corner of Section 103, Block VII, Lauder Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of a public road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 103 aforesaid to the south corner thereof; thence in a north-

westerly direction along the south-western boundary of Section 103 aforesaid to the intersection thereof with the north-western boundary of a sludge-channel reserve at the north-eastern corner of Section 80, Block VII, Lauder Survey District; thence generally in a westerly direction along the north-western and northern boundaries of the said sludge channel intersecting Section 80 aforesaid, and Section 22, Block VII, Lauder Survey District, to the north-western boundary of Section 22 aforesaid; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of an area of Crown land and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 88 and 87, Block VII, Lauder Survey District, to a public road; thence in a north-westerly direction along the last-mentioned public road, forming the south-western boundary of Section 87 aforesaid, to a point thereon in prolongation of the south-eastern boundary of Run 223o, Lauder Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction across the last-mentioned road to the south-eastern corner of Run 223o aforesaid; thence in a south-westerly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Run 223o aforesaid to a public road; thence across the last-mentioned road in a south-westerly direction to a point thereon in prolongation of the south-eastern boundary of Run 223o aforesaid; thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-western side of a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Run 223o aforesaid, to and across a public road, and along the south-western side of a public road forming the north-eastern boundary of Sections 15 and 3, Block II, Lauder Survey District, to the eastern corner of Section 3 aforesaid; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-western side of a public road forming, in part, the south-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block X, Tiger Hill Survey District, and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 2 aforesaid, to and across a public road, and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 2 aforesaid, and along the south-eastern boundary of Run 223c, Block X, Tiger Hill Survey District, to a public road; thence in a south-easterly direction across a public road and a railway reserve by a line in prolongation of the northern boundary of Run 223r, Block XXI, Tiger Hill Survey District, to the north corner of Run 223r aforesaid; thence generally in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Run 223r aforesaid to a public road on the west bank of the Manuherikia River; thence in an easterly direction across the last-mentioned public road by a line in prolongation of the northern boundary of Run 223r to the west bank of the Manuherikia River aforesaid; thence generally in a south-westerly direction along the western bank of the Manuherikia River to its confluence with the Clutha River; thence generally in a north-westerly and northerly direction along the eastern bank of the Clutha River to the point of commencement.

Vesting a Reserve in the Picton Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 8th day of December, 1937.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for municipal purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Picton:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Picton, in trust, for municipal purposes.
