This property, which should be suitable for dairying when developed, is situated on Campbell’s Road off the main Whangarei–Poroti Road, approximately twelve miles from Whangarei by metalled road for eleven miles, and clay road one mile. All easy, undulating country in scrub and a little gorse. Part of the soil is of a clay nature on clay and sandstone, while the remainder is volcanic. Well watered by a good stream, and water can also be secured by boring.

Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 1st December, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 24th January, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 26th January, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and improvement loading.
NOTE.—This land is offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessee, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Ohinemuri County.—Aroha Survey District.—Hauraki Mining District.
SECTION 64, Block II: Area, 11 acres 3 roods 15 perches. Capital value, £40. Half-yearly rent, 16s.
Weighted with £6 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share in 30 chains old boundary-fencing (in poor repair).
Section is situated on Hollis’s Road, approximately two miles from Waikino Post-office and School and one mile from Owharoa Railway-station; access is by metalled road. Easy rolling hill country mostly ploughable, at present badly infested with fern and gorse. Not suitable as a separate holding, but could be used for dairying in conjunction with adjoining land.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 13th January, 1938, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Puketapu Survey District.
(Native Land Settlement.)
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.)
SECTION 12, Block IV: Area, 681 acres. Capital value, £1,020. Half-yearly rent, £25 10s.
- Exempt from payment of rent and interest on weighting for two years, subject to the southern boundary being fenced within twelve months and other improvements to the value of a further £150 being effected within the two years, to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Weighted with £715 for improvements, comprising dwelling, wool-shed, cow-byre, whare, orchard, clearing and draining. This sum is payable in cash, or may be secured by mortgage for a term of approximately twenty-five years; interest, 5 per cent. to a discharged soldier, 5½ per cent. to others. Subject to the improvements as specified being effected, no interest or repayment of principal will be charged for a period of two years. The successful applicant will also be liable for the proportion of the insurance premium on £475 from the date of selection to the ensuing expiry date.
Situated on the main Napier–Wairoa Road, three miles from Tangoio Post-office, two miles from School, ten miles from Bay View Railway-station, thirty-two miles from Heretaunga Dairy Factory, and nine miles from Petane Saleyards. Access by good metalled main road from Napier, twenty-two miles distant. Open pastoral country suitable for grazing, comprising good ridges and steep broken faces; not divided into paddocks. Altitude 100 ft. to 1,000 ft.; small area of flat land suitable for homestead and farm buildings. Soil is a light loam resting on clay and limestone formation; watered by permanent running creeks. The property is badly infested with blackberry, and there are also signs of rabbits.
